In fact I can’t remember now why I have the 漢和辞典 at all…

Useful for finding corresponding pronunciations in 薬屋のひとりごと and other 高級/pseudo-China setting books? (I’m grasping at straws lol)

If you want to feel fancy, the ABC Japanese-English dictionary / 漢和

That does indeed look fancy, but I had JP-JP in mind. Something like the one @CatDQ mentions here looks appealing - but also I wonder how useful it will be for L30s material

I made the decision to transition over to Japanese dictionary lookups several months ago, and bought the 明鏡国語辞典 based on what (little) information I could find. I’m generally happy with it, but I’m also wondering if I may have aimed a little too high for where I’m at currently. The dictionary entries that I can read (about half my lookups so far) are clear and straightforward, but the ones I can’t are nearly 100% due to kanji and/or definition vocab. Obviously, the long-term answer is to improve…

So I guess I’ll have to ponder it for a while
