Finished [転生したらドラゴンの卵だった ~最強以外目指さねぇ~ 1 | L30](https://learnnatively.com/book/5f8a14ee90/) for the non-human protagonist square. It wasn’t bad, but I’m clearly not the target audience. Too much leveling and time spent on status windows for my taste. There were some developments towards the end that I enjoyed, but I’m probably not going to pick up the next volume. I have enough books in my TBR as is. ![Screenshot_20250106_164026_Chrome](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/2X/5/58b648076761751c14741932b3e589f9056494d7.jpeg) I’m getting a lot of reading done these last few days. Hi everyone, just an announcement - if you participated in the **2024** Japanese bingo challenge, please make sure the final number of bingos you had at the end of the year is correctly reflected in the wiki post by end of day on Sunday, January 12th! We are looking into getting custom titles set up according to the number of bingos won and having your information up to date will ensure you aren’t overlooked! ---

This one could’ve gone under a lot of prompts, but I’m gonna pick the past book club book, [https://learnnatively.com/book/c4f9c8dac2/](https://learnnatively.com/book/c4f9c8dac2/), that I finally finished after abandoning it back in February last year ([https://learnnatively.com/book/2c1e37ec2e/](https://learnnatively.com/book/2c1e37ec2e/) for the Japanese learners). ![image](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/2X/1/1d016bc7742d99eb0e9c1fa1df50bacce95eb2bf.jpeg) > **Past reads** > > 1. 2nd volume of series: [https://learnnatively.com/book/7e684a1974/](https://learnnatively.com/book/7e684a1974/) > 2. finished my first bingo square. picked [さびしすぎてレズ風俗に行きましたレポ | L33](https://learnnatively.com/book/9bfc59ab31/) for “Unusual genre to me”, since I generally don’t read autobiographical works. could also fit with the “Keep hearing about it” prompt, but I’m reading a different one for that. ![bingo](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/2X/3/37d6283fec3cc7a485fd54bf516012a93205c45c.jpeg) ---

My first bingo square of the year! 🥳 ![image](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/2X/f/fc387778b3668b007a3035e1d4f7e3cba28982cf.png) **10+ reviews/ratings** : [https://learnnatively.com/book/6500f66d63/](https://learnnatively.com/book/6500f66d63/) I’m choosing to interpret this as 10+ reviews _or_ ratings. 😅 It was surprisingly difficult to find a square for the book; one of the downsides of doing a smaller board, I suppose. I considered going for a 5x5, but I want to prove to myself I can get more than one bingo in a reasonable amount of time on a 4x4 before sizing up. ---

These are all coincidentally ending up on the same line so far 😅. I’m debating whether [https://learnnatively.com/book/ed230b779f/](https://learnnatively.com/book/ed230b779f/) is actually Sci fi enough for this prompt? Is the apocalyptic genre considered to be science fiction? I had actually planned to read [너의 유니버스 | L20](https://learnnatively.com/book/b3a0dbe6a6/), but it seems like I misremembered somehow. So yeah, just putting it here for now, I could put it for other prompts, such as the Unusual genre prompt, but I have another book planned for that one already. ![image](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/2X/c/c6d007f468ce190eabfd40efec12d7a627a2f017.jpeg) ---

Still no computer… I could do the card at work during break, though. In the meantime: Uncommon genre (as far as I am concerned): [源氏物語 1 | L41](https://learnnatively.com/book/e967e76098/) for classic literature. And by uncommon, I mean that it’s the first time I read such a book… I did read a book about the 百人一首 before, but even counting that, that’s the second one out of \*checks profile\* 1353 books on Natively (which does not include stuff without isbn or repeats). I’d say it’s fairly uncommon. > **Previous stuff** > > - 2nd volume: [追放悪役令嬢の旦那様2 | L27](https://learnnatively.com/book/093c2e47d5/) > - Unknown premise: [追放悪役令嬢の旦那様 | L27](https://learnnatively.com/book/4aacf15466/) > - No review/grading/rating: [双子王子の継母になりまして嫌われ悪女ですが、そんなことより義息子たちが可愛すぎて困ります~ ベリーズファンタジー | L29](https://learnnatively.com/book/dbe12a3802/) I am currently reading something with my fav color on the cover and one with a title that made me curious, so I would just need a “new Natively level” to complete a first bingo after that. Kinda rough condition, though 😅 I am only missing level 42, 43, 47, 49 and 51. I have 52 already and there’s nothing above. (Also, grading the book may knock it one level above or below…) ---

Hello! So I got completely obsessed with this challenge it seems 😄 Super grateful for it, got a renewed motivation for reading. I think from my backlog only I will be able to fill up almost all the squares, but I’m also looking forward to discovering new things thanks to the challenge ( _Ask what you read next in the Seeking Recommendations Thread_, _A genre you don’t usually read_ or _Released the year you were born_ for example). And I will be lurking here too, for _Something from someone else’s bingo card_ 👀 Status so far: ([updated list over on the Wanikani forums in my study log](https://community.wanikani.com/t/akashelias-study-log/58015/251?u=akashelia)) ![2025_BINGO_JP-1 copy_05](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/2X/a/ad9af90118de0ea521a11e3034f96aa5c5c4d9e3.jpeg) ---
