And I’m done, it’s a blackout.
For the last squares:
https://learnnatively.com/book/70422062a3/ - was a miss. It had enough military bs to still fit into “genre you don’t usually read”, but it wasn’t mecha I was aiming for.
https://learnnatively.com/book/dedca17cb0/ - kicked my ass all in the same way https://learnnatively.com/series/ca44ef6612/ did earlier this year. Goddamn 90ies style. Handwriting and fancy fonts that Google Lens perceives as just pictures…
https://learnnatively.com/book/79444eb7c0/ - 2 volumes in. I couldn’t watch the anime from the sheer cringe of how MC is thinking she’s got romance going from an equivalent of “hi” from a popular guy, but in the manga (probably because it’s fully her POV and we can’t hear anything), it feels like a sweet story that pulled me way better. I might continue this, actually.

Shuffle game - replaced the impossible prompt of “set where you lived” with “genre you don’t usually read” and found a card somewhere on forums here that uses sign language as language-related. Now I don’t have red crosses anymore!
Previously
Here I am, not a week later and down to 2 squares. Makes me want to replace those red crosses with something else random and grab a couple of manga volumes for that too.
Is choosing manga cheating if I can read a couple of volumes in one day? Not according to the beginning of the thread but hmm.
Done and notes
https://learnnatively.com/book/f1bae8535d/ - amazing combination of easy enough to feel like I’m looking up 5 words per page and not per sentance but… I think I got… bored? of the concept? And I was planning to read a couple of next volumes next year…
https://learnnatively.com/book/d0efadb979/ - ended up pulling me in so hard I feel like I read half a book in a week, yum
https://learnnatively.com/series/adce6406a3/ (2 volumes) - not continuing now because I’m still feeling guilty for assuming a shoujo male lead is some kind of… twisted individual. From his self-sacrificial attitude I’m still expecting trauma levels of the male lead (lol) in https://learnnatively.com/series/5822e2d9f2/ - that is what you get from guys like this lol.
https://learnnatively.com/book/596dc80c01/ - this was love
this gave me life
so cozy! I’m going to complain about not being able to read names forever (I think it was Minoru and Yutaka, which meaning-wise were so close I kept getting confused. Thank god for Tane-kun speaking in hiragana).
Name kanji issue started from the very introduction
I felt like this should be illegal. Would it kill you to add furigana to that one (1) name kanji there?
I had to scroll back X pages to the first time we saw it. It’s kind of cool to introduce reading like that, but also - gimme my name-gana please!!
https://learnnatively.com/book/0b7e3c384b/ This feels like a shouji-ai version of https://learnnatively.com/series/1f5c186616/ and is literally perfect for beginners.
