What would be the benefits of being verified?

My understanding from discussion on the forum is that it’s a way to prove that they are who they say they are, thus allowing them privileged interactions with their followers. For instance, it allows them to easily find the blogger they care about in the (non-existent yet) user search feature or on the forum.
Plus, if you are a blogger actively promoting Natively, you may get some VIP access? One example was to get automatically in the (yet inexistant) list of suggested accounts to follow. People can then see you are a blogger (from the certified icon) and may visit your blog (thus giving you more traffic).
I don’t know. Those are the things that come to mind.

Yes that’s right! Also, perhaps some smart handling of links to their site if they’re verified… so they get SEO.
Basically, rolling out the red carpet for them as they potentially can grow the site quite a bit
