> 1. If you are looking at search results and a NSFW cover is blurred, clicking it will unblur it. However, the cover is the largest and therefore most natural place to click to _open_ a book page. So you may want to only have it unblur on the book page itself. This probably applies to most parts of the site.

This would’ve made my life much easier… 🙈. What are other people’s thoughts on this? Do you want to be able to unblur around the site.. requiring a double click to go to the book/detail page? Or is having the single click to book page better, with the reveal only on the detail page?

Do note you can specify in settings to always unblur the NSFW Covers if you want to see them.

As for the meta stuff, yes I think that makes sense 🤔

I don’t have strong feelings, but I think like @seanblue’s suggestion. If tap = unblur, I’d expect second tap = re-blur. If I’m clicking while the cover is blurred, I’m probably interested in the book itself.

Something seems off with the search rn btw:

I think I’m usually careful to put a non-embed link & add (NSFW) afterwards these days, but… I wonder whether the auto-format links, like [彩純ちゃんはレズ風俗に興味があります! | L22](https://learnnatively.com/series/a70948410e/) (NSFW) can have the corresponding NSFW/NSFW Cover auto-appended to them… Or maybe those should be in the html title in the first place? Idk

What’s wrong with the behavior? It looks like two results are non adult and two results are. Remember NSFW Cover aren’t adult content necessarily and aren’t auto filtered

Just came back to add that mangaupdate had everything I looked up. The tags were not consistent (sometimes it was “smut”, sometimes it was a bunch of much more explicit tags), but it’s good enough for a tag moderator to make a decision.

If I search, I get (across the entire site):

Adult Content: 386
Adult Content + NSFW Cover: 2
NSFW Cover only: 4

Those numbers all seem bizarrely low (maybe not the first one, idk). If you search the [Girls Love tag](https://learnnatively.com/search/jpn/books/?ntags=gl&sort=level_asc), there are multiple items (ex: [女子更衣室 | L17](https://learnnatively.com/book/1dc7a953ac/) and [君は少女 | L18](https://learnnatively.com/book/1eed55a235/)) that have the Adult Content tag, but no longer have the NSFW Cover tags, even though their covers are very NSFW, and they had them yesterday. So they’re no longer blurred.

So it seems the issue isn’t with the search itself, but almost everything with the NSFW Cover tag lost it

Also on Desktop, I’m not getting the “Some results have been hidden, click here to unhide them” message. Edit: I do get it, if I enter a specific query, like [レズ](https://learnnatively.com/search/jpn/books/?q=%E3%83%AC%E3%82%BA%60)

Hmm. I can try to investigate but no NSFW Cover tags should be lost 🥺. I do see some older NSFW Cover tags.. so i can say not _all_ were deleted. You’re definitely not thinking of another tag, correct? This tag is relatively new.

Yes, I only show the notice if you either:

1. type a text query and there are filtered results
2. have a search where there are \<60 results and there are filtered results.

If i didn’t have those conditions, the notice would _always_ show, which I felt was wrong.

I’m definitely not thinking of another tag. It’s [NSFW cover](https://learnnatively.com/search/jpn/books/?ntags=nsfw-cover&show_sensitive=1), and across the whole site, it’s 2-4 items that show for me. If I [check my profile](https://learnnatively.com/user/akatsukinoluna/jpn/books/?ntags=nsfw-cover&collapse_series=1), it’s only Asumi-chan (the lesbian brothels one) that’s shown

I don’t really get why… If items are hidden, they’re hidden - and as a user, I’d want to know. So like, if I search the Girls Love tag rn (with no keyword), there’s no indication that things are being hidden, and I have to go to my profile and specifically toggle the setting to see the hidden things. That’s mildly frustrating, though not the end of the world. I’ll have the Adult Content enabled in the end anyway, so feel free to ignore.

I restored the db from a July 28th snapshot and i’ve confirmed there was no wipe of NSFW Cover tags. FWIW I’ll emphasize again.. this is an extremely new tag only created on July 19th based on this conversation.. from my recollection there hasn’t been any mass tagging of NSFW Covers yet. Only Adult Content has been tagged significantly, so i do suspect you’re mixing them up 🤔

> [@暁のルナ](#):

Understood. After playing around with it, I came away only wanting to show the notice if I think it’s relevant (similar to google/other search engines with their notice). If there’s a notice i want to click on it and for non-logged in users that’s not an option. It just didn’t feel right. Anyway.. sounds like it won’t be impacting you regardless 😂

We do need NSFW Covers tagged though!

Ok. You’re probably right then. Sry for the confusion and trouble. I’ll get to tagging when I’ve got a moment!

Sure, but it could still show for logged in users. I agree it wouldn’t make so much sense for non-logged in. To be clear, I was logged in when I did the search

Not quite the same thing, but would it be possible to hide NSFW items on your profile from being seen by others? Currently the only way to do this is to set your account to private, but I wish there was another option that allowed a public page except for the adult content you’ve logged.

<div class="post-metadata">

**Author:** ![brandon](https://deyr2qldo994j.cloudfront.net/user_avatar/forums.learnnatively.com/brandon/32/24147_2.png) [@brandon](https://forums.learnnatively.com/u/brandon)\

</div>

So.. hiding things that are marked adult content on your profile only would be relatively doable, but things that are less doable (much more work):

- hiding NSFW covers from your profile
- hiding your activity on the item detail pages (your reviews, your activity… etc)
- probably other gaps i can’t think of now

Would just hiding the adult content from your profile be enough? I obviously really want to encourage people and help them feel comfortable having a public profile but I could also see a whole nest of related permissioning features being needed too for those folks which we don’t have capacity for right now (wanting to hide ecchi activity, per item permissioning.. etc).

Still this is a very worthwhile discussion and a reasonable followup request!

There is an NSFW tag without „cover“ which about 75 books are tagged with. Maybe that was what you were thinking about.

It wasn’t. I’ve never seen any of the series with the NSFW tag. My brain somehow conflated “had the Adult Content tag & disappeared (filtered) the other day” with “also had the NSFW Cover tag”, for w/e reason 🤷‍♀️

Edit: I guess I’ve seen [獣の王と狼面の番 (Adult) | L24??](https://learnnatively.com/series/1f61b6d79d/) but point still stands

Ok! Did a bunch more work today.. and I think it’s done 😅

- switched to @seanblue’s suggestion around only allowing reveal of NSFW covers on the detail page
- I added an “(Adult)” to the end of the meta title for discourse (see @暁のルナ post above 😆)
- The meta image is also blurred when linking if there’s a NSFW cover
- Also added checkboxes to the request item flows for marking items NSFW Cover & Adult Content
- Show ‘adult’ badge on tags now (see below)
- Fixed an issue where private profiles still showcased the sensitive content notice

Can this badge also be shown next to tag names when adding new tags to a work? I’m a little unclear about what other tags besides “Adult content” will result in a work receiving an adult flag, and don’t want to accidentally mark something as adult where it doesn’t apply. (e.g. if there’s references to things like sexual assault or incest but no actual sexual content)

Maybe there’s some kind of cache issue on discourse, but the added (Adult) doesn’t work for this one inline [彩純ちゃんはレズ風俗に興味があります! (Adult) | L22](https://learnnatively.com/series/a70948410e/)

The big card version works perfectly though

Otoh [獣の王と狼面の番 (Adult) | L24??](https://learnnatively.com/series/1f61b6d79d/) gets it added fine. I’m guessing I linked it after you’d made the change?

Starting here and leaving off the rest might be the most flexible and long term solution tbh. Some people may want to hide certain things which aren’t adult from their profile (maybe they’re really into BL but not out as a fujoshi, idk, people have all sorts of reasons) and allowing the user to just hide individual items will work well in a variety of cases.

I agree with this - maybe when someone adds media to their profile there could be a check box within the dialogue box that says “hide from public profile” or something so that people can flexibly decide what’s shown or not.
