I would disagree with this, at least for French, with regard to prizes. France has a strong tradition of established literary prizes and knowing a book won Prix Goncourt for example will signal the book’s cultural relevance. (Everyone will have read it. )
For prizes, Natively already has a feature for flagging which books are award-winners and allows you to filter by award-winning books in searches, so including that information in the blurb shouldn’t be strictly necessary (though I don’t really see a reason to remove it, either, unless there’s no other content in the blurb and it’s getting replaced by a more useful description anyway).
It looks like French doesn’t have any awards registered yet, though, so the option doesn’t appear in the French section 
There was an announcement about librarians being able to work with the awards functionality recently, so you can probably request some French awards in the librarian thread if you’re familiar with the important ones?
