No luck… it did not come through . Ugh, not sure what to say. If you could keep experimenting and telling me as you buy, it’d be fantastic, would love to know exactly the issue.
That means it’s likely either the affiliate tag falling off when I switch it to e-book (it always sends me to paperback) or my ad block - I’m more inclined to think it’s ad block so, I purchased another one of my wish listed books: タイムマシンに乗れないぼくたち | L30?? for 1500円
Variables: uBlock Origin fully off, did not re-attach affiliate thingy in the URL
I just bought 2 more things off of amazon.de
Amazon.de has the requisite 3 orders now, so we’ll just wait and hope for approval this time…
Perfect thanks. Still waiting to see if it comes through (can take up to a day)
タイムマシンに乗れないぼくたち was a success… so I guess it’s the ad block which is annoying
I’d still give it another go with adblock off & on again just to confirm the behavior.
Just ordered something for work. That should be 3 orders now.
@brandon gentle ping on this one in case it got lost in the thread…
whoops! Thank you for that - added!
Tonight I purchased レゾンデートル | L30?? with ad-block off, on the 25th I purchased 戦前昭和の猟奇事件 | L30?? with ad-block on (I actually already owned it, but through Bookwalker and using their app when I’ve gotten so comfortable with my other setup was driving me nuts).
Hopefully this will confirm one way or another
I have no idea how feasible this would be, but it would be nice is we could see how much we have contributed to the site through using affiliate links.
Totally not looking for an excuse to buy more books in the spirit of “supporting Natively”.
That’s almost impossible to track sadly, and you end up in a big hell-hole of data protection and affiliate rules.
has it worked?
I don’t think there’s a thread for video providers yet (correct me if I’m wrong), but I was taking a look on Natively’s video providers page, and dang; that’s a lot of entries. Are these all generated from Just Watch somehow? Should they be cleaned up @brandon? Or have some provider summaries added? Or are we waiting to clean that up?
Also noticed this typo:
It should probably be slightly edited for shows/movies.
Yes, they do need to be cleaned up, they’re just generated from JustWatch
Unfortunately, I was burned out on it, so i’ve moved onto better things. Eventually I’ll clean that up.
So レゾンデートル worked, but not the other one. It does seem like adblock is the issue
No, they rejected me again!! And this time, it wasn’t because my links were wrong, but rather because they deemed my website a simple link aggregator with no intrinsic value. It’s pretty unbelievable and totally dependent on the Amazon reviewer you get of course, but I’ve never had this much trouble, even when the website had very little content on it!
Ugh, i’ll let you know when I reapply. We really do need to get this API access though
Edit: Also, Amazon doesn’t let you dispute the reviewer’s notes. You just have to reapply again and get 3 sales.
Well at least it’s solved I’m probably one of the few people using Rakuten, so it likely won’t be a huge issue, but I think having the knowledge in your back pocket will help if there are questions in the future.
oh no
This is probably due to the fact that you now have more providers available than just Amazon, more than anything else.
They have been known for their “competitive fairness”
I actually don’t think so. There are plenty of affiliate programs which list in their terms that you can’t list elsewhere as a part of their terms.
If Amazon actually cared they could certainly have some stipulations around that.
I’m pretty sure it’s just the reviewer you get and which books they end up on.
We’ll see.
recently started using pixiv so I can write some about it
Pixivコミック (the comics store for pixiv)
Address: No local address required. No verification process.
Payment: in Points, you buy them using Yen currency; some non-Japanese credit cards work, but not all; Paypal works; no gift cards
important note: I can’t see the points I bought through the app on the site so they might be separate for some reason
international IP address: OK
Access: App for android and iOS devices (with offline functionality) or reading on PC browser (internet required)
Notes: if you already use pixiv to follow artists you like then it’s a comfortable way to see stuff from them as well; a lot of free content to read; if you follow something consistently you can also get to read it for free when it’s available (after a certain amount of new chapters some of the chapters become only available on the volume itself when it comes out); you can get early access to some good stuff if pixiv is the one publishing it; you can swipe both left-right anf up-down without changing any settings (it’s constantly on for both, can be a bit annoying when you try to minimize something on your phone though lol)
