@brandon I revised the benchmark list in the first post! Some notes:
- I started with my and biobliothecary’s ranked lists
- Then I adjusted them in a relative sense to be more appropriately spaced according the the EU frame work (A1 to C2).
- Then, I went through gradings to see if there were any other patterns I could take account of that would overrule the above
- I went through your list of most read / graded books and added some
- FInally, I went through the current benchmark list. Not all benchmark notes and levels matched, so I updated the levels and wrapped them into my list.
Have a look - the revised list is under the title: “Updated benchmark books”.
And the previous round I left under a dropdown labelled ‘Round 1’.

Sorry I never got around to this! But I finally have done it ![]()
We did increase the number of unique graded books / book series up to 63! Still some work to do, but baby steps.
If people have more proposed benchmarks, let us know. And just doing gradings is a massive help!
