**Description of your request or bug report:**

I noticed that there are duplicate tags for [https://learnnatively.com/book/404754f410/](https://learnnatively.com/book/404754f410/).

This only applies to the first book in the series - the tags for the rest of the volumes look like this:

I think it’s due to tags being added before and after the rest of the series populates:

> add new book \> add tags \> series populates \> add series tags

So the first volume ends up with duplicates. I think it could be dealt with by:

- disallowing duplicate tags (not only restricted to the situation above; any volume that’s individually tagged will have the same problem if the tag is subsequently added to the whole series)
- apply-to-series tags being automatically added to any new volumes (populating/syncing/manually added)

(Apologies if this has been mentioned before - I thought I remembered someone pointing it out, but I couldn’t find a bug report.)

I’ve submitted via the feedback form to get the first book fixed.

Do you have other examples where this is happening to see if this is a frequent issue?
Otherwise I’d say it’s something that Librarians can handle if it’s not that common.

I think the only other examples of this I’ve found got fixed, but I do think there’s an underlying issue that should be addressed instead of just allowing it to happen and getting librarians to fix it every time.

As far as I can tell, it happens because tags can be set both on individual books and on series, and the tag list on the book page doesn’t differentiate between what tags are inherited from the series and what tags are unique to that book. If someone adds a tag to a book individually, and then later adds the same tag to the series it’s in, the book inherits the series tag without overwriting its individual tag, and will have the tag listed twice.
