Happy having you, but if it’s becoming that much of a chore to read, plz don’t feel like you have to force yourself to stick with it.
I think he says they slept through it. Even if it’s not explicitly stated, that’s the only way I could interpret that.

I just went back and it’s not made explicit, but I assume that’s the only explanation since he should have set the alarm for 10pm.

Another fairly fun segment. Definitely the segments where someone (usually Asanagi, though in this case both her and Amami) takes a big swing and does something are as good as the slice-of-life bits to me. Mind you this also had more class social anxiety stuff and damn, dude, your class sucks ass so bad lol

Week 11
Didn’t they decide to “come clean” and tell Umi’s friends, in particular Yuu that she is friends with Maki? Kinda feel bad for essentially lying to Yuu.
I assume Umi is dreading losing Maki to Yuu right now. Like they’ll still be friends, but the friendship will become yet another thing she shares and maybe competes with Yuu.

…yeah, they had decided that, but it didn’t happen (with no mention of it whatsoever, but hopefully it will come up later).
Rather than competing for friendship, it sounds more like competing for her hobbies… then it would make sense that she tried to keep it a secret from the start.
What I don’t understand is why 天海 is keeping it a secret from 新田. I guess 朝凪 might have convinced her to do so, but then again, why.

Omg I love that scene so much, with 3 different reactions
- It’s really sweet how genuine, well-intentioned and caring she is, and how she wants everyone else to understand her friend is just as great as she thinks he is
- To be fair, the ppl in that class really suck, and she’s right to call them out
- OMG GIRL WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?! You’re gonna horrify and traumatize the poor kid
I really love that combination of genuine, well-intentioned, and clueless she has. Makes her a very enjoyable character for me.

To be fair we’ve been living inside Maki’s head the entire novel. I’d be surprised if it didn’t.

I’m half way through week 12, but it’s (as usual) kinda weird.
week 12
天海 is asking if people are hating the MC because they don’t want to be paired with him, but the whole is to be designated to do a job that requires a lot of social connections (and social skills in general) with someone who has absolutely 0 of those things. You might just end up having to do virtually everything by yourself. No one wants that. I would not want that and I don’t even mind the main character. 新田 has a much better reaction: don’t worry, I’ll give a hand if you need it (thus decreasing the pressure of getting the job).
Also, the fact that 天海 only ends up targeting a few girls means that it’s not even everyone acting like that (contrary to what the MC is saying) just a couple persons.
I don’t know, I feel like 天海 is just being weird here (and 新田 is currently my favorite of those 3 friends; that might just be because I don’t know much about her, but she is the only one who has been more or less normal so far).
Regarding the cringe factor, I’m usually really sensitive to that, but thanks to my suspension of disbelief being shattered to pieces, it did not affect me at all here

I feel vindicated by the fact he is indeed exhausted after such a short amount of time. Working with him would indeed mean hard mode. Plus not knowing him at all would add a lot of friction.
On the other hand, 朝凪 saying
前原って、クラス内の劇物みたい
felt a bit strange to me. I guess he didn’t make friends from the previous public interaction with 天海 in class, but my image was that it was among guys. I don’t see why girls would care about that.
Maybe I forgot something. I don’t know. I still had the image that his standing was not as bad as he thought.
