@Belerith @fallynleaf? Are you guys still chugging along?

I was surprised how little redemption he got, honestly. He managed to help knock Nina out of her shell, but it didn’t feel like there was any real dad/daughter progress there, for better or worse.

Agreed with this point for sure! I’m usually reading fantasy, so the topic doesn’t usually come up, haha.

Sorry for not commenting; I actually also finished the book before new year’s. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I was waiting for a slow day to write down my thoughts (on a keyboard, preferably, not my phone, haha) which… Didn’t happen.

Thanks for reading this book with me! This was the best reading experience I’ve had so far in Spanish. I read the last 16 percent in one go! That’s crazy.

I’m aware that this doesn’t mean my Spanish suddenly got good but the difficulty was right in that sweet spot.

Thematically I’m happy with it as well. Yes, it’s a bit juvenile and not all that subtle, but it is a book for youths after all.

Nina and to a point Alexia had their faults but were pretty likeable in the end. Cris for some reason is an angel? I didn’t expect her to be so forgive and forget so easily. On the other hand she and Alexia are best friends since forever.

That’s about it! I don’t hav many deep thoughts about it. @Micki’s point about social media youth is very poignant though. I’m happy I missed most of that myself. Parents today have it tough having to manage a good introduction to that for their kids.

I’m pretty sure we’re all done by this point, but one last update for old time’s sake: final week!
