Welcome to the home thread for かがみの孤城 ![かがみの孤城](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/3X/6/4/6442632176c6bc01627b8ff5efb6bec0f108e3c7.jpeg) Based on interest around the book, we are running an informal, read at your own pace book club. Feel free to join in if you are reading, planning to read, or have read the novel (I guess you are also welcome to come along if you never plan to read the book, but I’m not sure how much you would get out of the club 🤔). There are ~~two~~ three physical versions, a [hard cover](https://learnnatively.com/book/8717a21964/) single book and the [two set paperback](https://learnnatively.com/series/70fdaf79a4/), and a full furigana set from Popular Kimi Novels. I have the hardback and have based any page/chapters off of that, so let me know if it doesn’t line up with your version so I can add that to the club information. And with that, ### Are you planning on joining us? _Poll ([view on site](https://forums.learnnatively.com/t/home-thread-informal-book-club/17903/1))_ ### How will you be reading? _Poll ([view on site](https://forums.learnnatively.com/t/home-thread-informal-book-club/17903/1))_ ### 第一部◊様子見の一学期 | Chapter | Page (physical) | | --- | --- | | [五月](http://forums.learnnatively.com/t/topic/17904/) | 10 | | [六月](http://forums.learnnatively.com/t/topic/17905/) | 61 | | [七月](http://forums.learnnatively.com/t/topic/17906) | 102 | | [八月](http://forums.learnnatively.com/t/topic/17907) | 135 | Remember that all threads in the club can be found using the [tag search](http://forums.learnnatively.com/tag/%E3%81%8B%E3%81%8C%E3%81%BF%E3%81%AE%E5%AD%A4%E5%9F%8E).

Ok, I have threads up for the first part of the book I didn’t want to flood the forum with everything at once, but let me know if you’re farther along and I can make up new threads now or as needed. ---

There’s also a full furigana version by Popular Kimi Novels. I would guess this comes in paperback too. ---

The bookwalker version is 上下 so I would guess paperback would do the same? Kind of like the junior Honzuki versions. Let me try googling it. Edit: Yep, here’s [part one](https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOBK-2718160) and [part two](https://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOBK-2718392) on CDJapan ---

Behold, the character list from the WK club, credited then to @Belerith so thanks again! I didn’t spoiler anything aside from the last character who was already covered up, these are mostly physical or personality descriptions or light relationship explanations so IMO not spoiler-y > **Characters** > > | Name | Reading | Age/Grade | Further Info | | > | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | > | 真田 美織 | さなだ みおり | 中一 | 意地悪の子たちのリーダーみたいな女子生徒、こころのクラスメイト | | > | 三河 | みかわ | | ミカワ青果の店長？ こころのことが好きだったらしいけど、真田美織と付き合うことになった | | > | | | | | | Looks like the home thread doesn’t have a wiki put probably makes the most sense here ---

I have never participated in a bookclub before. I intend to read this book in 6-8 months, maybe a bit longer (due to a backlog of books gradually increasing in difficulty) Can I just join whenever? ---

Sure! There might not be as much activity as there is now due to people maybe finishing it earlier. But many people still check for comments on the older threads and would be able to answer questions/discuss the contents of the book if you have questions. ---

if anyone has trouble with the characters they have an illustrated character list in the furigana versions preview. Might also be useful to add this near the character list in this thread. ![image](https://do4ryrayvtpwi.cloudfront.net/original/3X/3/c/3cb73de2e43ab5068d4b2a52742a31b5c86176dc.jpeg) ---

I finished it a few days ago 😅 I didn’t really have much to say in the early portion of the book. As for my overall opinions the short of it is my complaints mentioned in the last thread stand and only strengthened in the end I think. Once the final thread is up I’ll post a more detailed comment there I guess for the sake of discussion. ---

I’m still parked at chapter 3, I think, but I’m planning to get back to a chapter or so a day pace that I started with before we moved. So hopefully I’ll even get to use the threads soon 😂 ---

How could I have missed this 😭 I was struggling so much in August-October when I was reading this book, but I felt too exhausted to keep up with SNS so I didn’t check the forum that time. Thank you for the home thread and chapters. I will check those out 😃
