My n2 test finished an hour and a half or so ago. Good luck

No spoilers!

It’s always funny because they mix N5 here with N2 and N1, making it seem like there’s a lot in the advanced levels when it’s not true :joy:

Test is still tomorrow here, good luck to everyone taking it now!

I finished N1 a couple of hours ago. Was pretty brutal - I feel like I understood the reading/listening materials fine, but I have no confidence that I actually answered the questions correctly. The grammar etc. section I definitely have no confidence in.

But oh well - at least the venue was good. Proper audio setup in a lecture theatre, not a dinky little CD player at the front of massive room like the tests I did in Japan.

Yeah I’m not super confident about having passed the N2. There were quite a few questions I wasn’t sure of. We had a dinky little CD player but I think I at least did okay on the listening section. But my grammar and vocab isn’t great, and the reading was hard too. I guess I’ll find out in late Jan. Fingers crossed but honesty it doesn’t matter because I don’t need it for anything

Well, that was quite the rollercoaster from finding some questions absurdly easy to I’m not even know what I’m doing…

We will see.

Also I had to try not to laugh at the Myne-style event in the listening

Yup that was pretty much how I found it too

We will see

Please explain once the test is finished everywhere.

Just finished here in the US! The N1 vocab/grammar questions threw me a few words I’d never seen before, which I wasn’t expecting, but overall not too bad. Lots of reading experience meant I finished the reading section well ahead of the time limit which was reassuring. I’m relatively confident I passed, but also irrationally worried about it like always

Thats awesome, well done
I might try N1 next year if I feel like I’ve read enough by then.

Well, it should be safe now I guess?, without going into much details, it was about a woman nerding hard about making paper, and describing how it felt to the touch and such

I passed the N2 with a total score of 96!
Those 6(7?) points have my utmost respect :joy: :face_with_peeking_eye:

Well I thought I didn’t care about the results, but now I kinda feel happy and motivated I did the bare minimum!

I hope everyone on Natively get their desired results :v:

Congrats to all! :tada:

I passed N1 too, with 160/180 total:
Language knowledge 44/60
Reading 56/60
Listening 60/60 (!?)

I thought I’d done well right after the test but gradually got more worried about it as the announcement got closer, so I’m glad my initial impression was correct

Also glad to never have to worry about this test again :muscle:

If you live in Asia, you can now prepare for the BJT (ビジネス日本語能力テスト) instead!
N1 is supposedly similar to J1, but it has a J1+ category! You can keep testing higher

Oh shit I forgot to check, but as expected I failed.
If there’s a slight positive thing about my results is that reading is up

anime-shrug

Congrats to all who passed!

I’ll go cry in a corner even though I expected these results
