I think this is Tearmoon’s last week; I don’t think there’s any hard and fast expectation to have a one week break then start, so I’d say poll, and if folks would prefer a two or three week break instead, that’s fine as well.

I’ve removed all of our previous nominations (except for 裏世界ピクニック, as it was our co-winner last time); users may nominate up to three book nominations for this round; if you are re-nominating a book (which you are more than welcome to!), you may either type up a new nomination post for it or simply quote the full original nomination. The nomination period will run from right now through September 11, and voting for our next book will run from September 12→September 20.

I’m thinking that if we decide to add this rule, we’ll go with a regular tiebreaker poll if needed for this upcoming poll, since all noms are on equal footing (unless 裏世界ピクニック ties, in which case it will win due to it being a legacy nom), and use the new rule going forward after that. Would that be alright?

I’d like to use my first nomination slot to re-nominate Biblio’s nom Arknoah! This one just seemed like it might be a fun, chill fantasy, so I’ve been wanting to give it a shot since the original nomination.
おこぼれ姫と円卓の騎士 is maybe the only other previous nom I’m considering re-nomming; I’d like to use my two other slots for fresh picks, but I do want to read that book…

I’ve read part in the way in English, but I’ve postponing finishing it as I want to go to the original material, as I fear I’m missing a lot in the “adaptation”.
The audiobook is not available outside Audible Japan, and only the first few volumes are available. Also it’s divided in parts, making it specially expensive. But the quality is very good.

The audiobook is included in the monthly subscription which is iirc about 10€ a month.

Why are you nominating this book: I read the first volume of the manga and enjoyed it a lot, but I typically like the source material better than manga adaptations, so I stopped there, bought the first volume of the light novel, and then just let it rot in my TBR pile (as I often do with books I am really looking forward to; I am somehow waiting for the conditions to be “just right”, the stars to align, the scented candles to just light up on their own, and so on). Hopefully reading it with people will get me past that stage

Why are you nominating this book: When I was starting out with audiobooks I listened to lots of things at random trying to find something that I liked. When I tried this I barely understood the gist of it and bounced of. The vibe seemed interesting though, so I’d like to give it another chance, this time via reading (thus easy lookups).
Content wise I expect a severely chuuni, somewhat dark YA fantasy about swords and sworcery.
