We already have so many good nominations; I feel like the chances of anything else I nominate getting picked in the next five years becomes more and more miniscule as the options pile up. @.@

and I still have 1 more I want to nominate later :joy:

Subject: History
Available formats: physical / ebook

Content warnings

Not aware of any but it does deal with history so may have some unsettling content, it’s for children though.

Reason(s) for nominating: I thought it would be interesting to read and get to know some Japanese history. Also really wanted to learn about Himiko and Yamatai. There is a second book as well, that covers from where this one finishes until a few years ago.

Wow, that was scary. I was about to start clicking on my choices when the page suddenly shifted and the poll disappeared, haha.

No worries~

And man, I need to whittle down from 12 picks to 5… how to choose…

Edit: okay, I’ve done the impossible. Read curious what our first pick will end up being.

Lots of things I really want to read but will be too hard for me. I still had trouble voting just keeping it boxed to books that I’d be able to read :joy:

I voted only for things I have so I know I can participate without having an excuse to buy more books

I wish to join you guys but it seems like the one book I’ve already read is gonna win this poll :moyai: well it was good maybe i will go through it again

Voting is open another 7 days. The leader very well might change (at least that happens a lot in other clubs I’ve been in)

Yeah, there’s a 3-way tie at the moment, so the winner’s by no way decided.

We have a non-tie winner!!!

日本人の心がわかる日本語 | L25 is the first pick of the club!!!

We’ll start on the 15th of December (let me know if you need more time though), in the meanwhile I’ll update with a thread and timetable when I can (the timetable might take a while though)
please be on the look out for a pace poll I will create over at the thread when I create it!

Hmm, just noticed this is 1900 yen for 200 pages… It’s on “backorder, usually ships in 5-10 days” status at cdjapan, which puts it a bit uncertain whether it would arrive before the holidays. I might come back to this next year, but I have perhaps overextended myself on book clubs already so an expensive backordered book might be one to skip :-/

I’m probably not going to start until January, after the Aozora advent is over. Don’t let me be a deterrent to starting on the 15th, though!

Ditto for me, I’ll join in January but imagine I’ll be able to catch up fine with just two weeks backlog

I’m tempted to join the others and just start in January. I’ve been pretty slammed with books lately, and it’d be nice to go into December knowing I didn’t have another one waiting for me quite yet.
