Woops, I took an unplanned break shortly after I wrote about me starting… but I churned through it over the past days. Was a pretty fun read, I liked it! Was a pleasure to read wrt language, too.

I spent most of the book thinking both women were the same person, and that the reveal would go that way, but there were a couple scenes where it challenged that idea, like when the protagonist saw the narrator with other people around, like at work. (I still think somewhere out there you can find a theory where it fits, and I would love to find it!)
I noticed that at the very end, in the hospital scene, the 所長 never questions how the narrator knows about this fact:
「五十嵐レイナのパンツ盗んだこと誰にも言いませんから」
「エッ……」
「約束します。絶対に、誰にも言いません」
「……」
しばしの沈黙ののち、所長は低い声で呟いた。「……考えておきます」
