I gathered that you prefer a manga with a lot of dialogue? How do you feel about romance, do you have a preference for male/female main characters? Should it be present day or is a historical or even fantasy setting also okay?
This is a series focusing on a womanās life. Lots of interactions with the people in her lifeā¦ also her ex boyfriends seem to play a role. Slow start!
This series is very romance focused. Lots of dialogue, some work setting, some everyday stuff. Very SoL. Very romance. (The first volume has one iffy scene.)
Not too sure what genre this is. I think SoL? Not as dialogue heavy, but itās not too sparse either from what I remember. Probably turning into a romance down the road. Itās quite artistic(?).
The following doesnāt exactly fit your requirement of purely adult characters. One of the main characters is a high school student, the other her aunt. We get both the student and the auntās POV, so thereās a good mix. The tone overall isnāt childish, but it is a coming of age story. Iād say the focus is family.
Thereās a drama adaptation of this series and the āspicyā scenes are hilarious. Iirc it was like, dancing around in clouds of pink smoke to imply sex?
I wonder if there should be a list in the first post of people who want recommendations + some kind of summary/link to post? Otherwise a post could easily get buried in the flowā¦
I wish discourse had a thread-in-thread system, where you could branch out by 1 within a topic, so the main posts asking for recs, would have their subtrees of replies. (I know, it has it to some extend, if you click on the ā3 repliesā thingy, but finding the main rec posts is a hassle as you cannot āhideā the replies)

Edit: One thing to consider is, do we keep all recommendation requests for ever, or is there a stage when we consider them filled? For me itās more of a constant thing, so the more recommendations I get, even much later, the better, but does it make sense to keep recommendation requests open indefinitely when dozens more are added?
Also, maybe it would also be nice to list answers to each recommendation request? (Organizing is hard!) @biblioās idea of a thread-in-thread system sounds ideal, but I donāt think thereās a way to do that here.
It should be up to each requestor to add their request to the table. (Does discourse have a proper table add-on? this seems like such a missing feature.)
Just use an extra column for that (or move it to a different table). I wouldnāt remove it since others may want the same kind of stuff. Plus, when I got recommendations in the past, I did come back to them more than a few times as I read them over time. Having the link directly available is more convenient

I definitely wouldnāt remove. But is a request for recommendations ever really completely fulfilled? Maybe. I guess we could have three options: Open, Answered, and, I donāt know, Always Open?
So trying to keep the information in the table to a minimum, maybe something like this would work?

In any case, I think we should probably enter new requests as the first rather than the last line, so that they eye falls on them first, what do you all think?
Unless there are better ideas or objections, Iāll probably go ahead and make the table in the OP soonish. We can always edit it after the fact, after all.
This looks to be self-published. I have nothing against self-published works as such, on the contrary many are amazing, but many tend to be poorly edited/proofread, which can be more of a problem when youāre a learner. Do you remember noticing any language problems when you read it?
It would also be helpful for those who might have be looking for a similar recommendation, and can see whatās already been suggested at a glance (clicking the link to the original request, that is). Or if someone wanders in and wants something, though theyāre not sure what, they could glance at the table and potentially say, āyeah, something with creeping dread and a suffocating atmosphere of unknown danger would really fit the bill right nowā.
I figure, since the OP will be made a wiki anyway, the amount of work needed to maintain it gets spread out a little bit. Even if, say, @omk3 maintained it for a good while, then lost interest/left, thereās a chance some other good samaritan will show up to make a change here or there, etc.
That seems like a nice balance to me. Gives good opening info, but lets the original post itself still stand on its own. Might be worth putting a note in the OP as well about finding linked replies/people replying to the original post with recommendations.

Iām still not convinced the posterās username is more important than the date, for example.
Also, I opted for just Open and Fulfilled as Status for simplicityās sake, but I hope Open doesnāt look like there havenāt been good recommendations already.
The idea is that everyone will add their own request to the table. I guess that if I notice thereās been requests that werenāt added I might add them myself (or someone else can), but adding someone elseās request may always result in interpretation errors. Anyway, itās not a big deal if requests arenāt added, they just wonāt be easy to find after a while, thatās all.
So far we only have three requests, but with 36 posts, theyāre already easy to miss.
I read the first manga volume and the fan service was way beyond what I can handle. I guess it might be marginally better in the light novel (since itās less visual), but Iām not risking it.
