Well I don’t dislike it, but it’s true that after 10+ volumes it gets super diluted and the drama just falls to nothing.
That’s a lot! Getting through one volume of LN (so 3~4 manga volumes?) was nearly unbearable for me.
After the battle with the demons was over it went a bit bland, but I guess the fact there are so many volumes is because must be somewhat popular. Also it got the official English translation treatment too.

Ahh I see, I appreciate the heads up. Seems it’s a tricky niche to find.
@Aik
This sounds like what I’m after! Why didn’t you enjoy it?
Mm - I think it was just one of those books where there was nothing really wrong with it, but it just didn’t do anything for me. Couldn’t pinpoint any problem in particular though.
Does anybody have any Japanese cookbook recommendations? I’m after “standard home cooking” rather than fancy, and ideally things that work in quantities for one person.
Tagging @bungakushoujo since I know you’ve been looking at cookbooks lately.
I have pretty much the same criteria when it comes to cookbooks and can be picky if the recipes are too fancy or require too many ingredients or techniques. Lately I’ve been enjoying several from 長谷川あかり、namely つくりたくなる日々レシピ and her DAILY RECIPE mooks. I like how all the recipes only require a few ingredients and are quick to make with serving sizes for 1-2 people, so I can easily cook for just myself after work if I want. Check them out! ![]()
was good from the parts I checked out. I wanted to get a physical copy, but couldn’t find it on Suruga-ya
