Good point. I was thinking that it was somewhat cold since he did it over the phone and practically said the bare minimum, but he is almost definitely going though the shock and denial phases of grief, and couldnβt even bring himself to say it outright.

Yeah, the fact that it was over the phone got me too, even if I thought the delivery was more βspeechlessβ vs βcoldβ. I meanβ¦ just walk on over there
Just finished the first chapter though, and it was definitely an interesting one. A lot going on to throw some hooks into the setting for such a short intro, looking forward to the rest
