Finally finished reading this chapter after listening through it (life needs to slow down and give me time to read again 
).
Something important that I failed to catch while listening was that it wasnât Nadiaâs monkey that got thrown into the jaguar cage. I was listening to that part like 
. Then when her monkey came back into the scene afterward, I was very relieved, and was like, âoh, I mustâve misunderstood that the monkey had died.â AlasâŠ
I caught the sort of spiritual/supernatural bits of the jaguar scene just fine when listening, but failed to understand some of the more mundane bits of the setup until I read it afterward.
