Update on おはなし・ねこあつめ | L20??
I’m about 1/3rd of the way through. Initially I thought it might be more text-dense than 夜カフェ and some of the other kid’s chapter books I’d read recently, but it only looks that way because there’s no dialogue. It’s cute read for what it is: a kid’s book about cats doing cat things. (With the added caveat that all the stories so far have ended with the cats meeting one of the “special” cats from ねこあつめ which adds a tiny bit of a fantastical element.)
Fairly simple writing, lots of onomatopoeia words, low stakes plots involving cats. Probably a good one for people getting started with novels who want practice reading descriptions and sequences of action.
