I’m not a big fan of anime but I really enjoy reading manga and light novel.
Because of that I chose to learn Japanese so I could read the latest books and be up to date on the series I like.
Now I mostly keep on going because I just really like learning this language as I feel like I’m always learning new stuff, even when I thought I knew something I still get surprised by some random thing around it, reading series I like just ended becoming a by-product of learning and a way of checking on my progress.
I’m not really good at expressing myself in general but I try to write reviews for the books I read, my ratings might be all over the place but I will I try to follow some pattern for the overall ratings:
- 1: I hated it, I don’t think I would ever find one since I wouldn’t put myself through something I would hate that much.
- 2: I didn’t like it but it could have some potential if you’re a fan of the genre.
- 3: I found it alright, I wouldn’t go out to recommend it, but if asked I probably wouldn’t recommend against it.
- 4: If I really liked the book, I can see myself actively recommending it.
- 5: I loved it, you should read it.
It’s rather subjective but if it can be of use to beginner in the Japanese learning and book reading journey then that’s the least I could do.
