I got to a passable* listening comprehension in Japanese through years of exposure to anime w English subtitles and sometimes without any translation.

I’m passable at reading with furigana, if a bit slow - damn you, katakana!
But I want to learn how to read without it, otherwise I’ll forever feel like a 小2
