i started studying japanese in elementary/middle school and through a combination of luck, video games, and lots of hours on ニコ動 and 2ch, picked it up fairly naturally by university.

these days i mostly use the language in relation to my work as a performer, teacher, and lifelong student of taiko ensemble and traditional taiko accompaniment

i play games (JRPGs and indies) more than i read but i have a lot of novels i need to finish and am aiming to read more this year! you can also view my embarrassingly large backlog of games here.
