I have loved Japanese media for most of my life. I started to read manga already back in 2006, starting with Dragon Ball, Ranma 1/2 and One Piece. I started to study Japanese in 2022, because I prefer to enjoy all kinds of media in their original language, and I really wanted to do that with anime and manga. I’m also studying Chinese, although I’m not even close to a level where I could read/watch stuff yet, and I hope to pick up Korean in the future too. My native language is Finnish, and here in Finland it’s mandatory for us to learn Swedish in school. I wasn’t at all interested in it back in school, but later on I’ve wanted to learn it properly. I’m especially interested to learn mellannyländska, which is the dialect spoken here where I’m from. I’m also fluent in English.
