Day 9: Solved it!
but what a strange story. I thought it was adults at first… I mean… teens having basically a swinger party is… odd. Guess it happens.
Would have liked to know, why, though. Jealousy? Accident?
Day 10: Didn’t even have the inkling of an idea. ![]()
I have now reached your day. ![]()
Day 11: Not a chance in hell. The fact to the solution wasn’t mentioned in the story anywhere (or did I miss it?) and who would guess that there is no ash if they can’t see it and it’s not described? Also ash can be anywhere… it’s not like it has to be in the can…
Very unsatisfying story, imo.
Weirdly I thought of the solution and then thought ‘nah that’s a bit basic’ ![]()
Day 12: bit of a weird story but fit the tone of the collection!
Day 13: similar to day 11, thought of the solution and dismissed it as basic
Day 12: Enjoyed the story and the way it was told but not the solution. ![]()
Day 13: Meh. Some of these stories and their solutions are just… meh.
But overall it’s a nice experience reading one of these every day for advent. ![]()
Day 14: Solved this one easily, but thought I must be wrong. I mean the culprit might not have known which of the rooms are occupied and just screwed them all shut to be on the safe side… ![]()
(Posting for Biblio.)
eefara breaking me out of jail again. ![]()
Day 15: I was on the right track, i.e. I thought “Wouldn’t Cyanide have killed her quicker?” but didn’t think it through to the end, i.e. it did not occur to me that it wasn’t in the bottle.
I kinda forgot to read this the last couple of days. ![]()
Day 16: I realized that there should be the phone ringing recorded but the rest of the reveal is going over my head.
Day 17: Interesting way of telling this story. The narration style reminds me a bit of 理由 | L34. Solved this, but not completely. I could identify the who, but not the how exactly.
Day 18: Didn’t have a clue. ![]()
Day 19: Didn’t solve this because I zoned out while reading and I didn’t want to re-read. ![]()
Day 20: I feel like this was solveable, but I wasn’t bothered enough to think it through. Getting lazy. ![]()
Day 21: This story was kinda sad.
and set around Christmas.
(Biblio break~)
Day 16 confused me too much ![]()
I liked Day 17, although I didn’t solve it!
And once again I have fallen off reading this book for the same reason as last year, managed to pick up a vicious December cold
however feeling better now, so maybe I will be able to finish!

glad you are feeling better. ![]()
Day 22: Okay, they had me in like the first third of this story. I did not realize the POV was from a dog and thought odd name for a girl and how rude of the teacher to keep calling someone by a different name. .
Did not solve this, yet again. I did not even have an incling of an idea. I felt that the one with the bad smell was too obvious, so decided against him, but didn’t feel like there was any information to actually land on the handler.
Day 23: Didn’t solve it but thought there is probably poison in all chocolates. So maybe like 1/10 of a point? ![]()
Day 24: This was solveable (as in: all the information was given), but I didn’t try and I don’t know if I would have figured it out, tbh.
Day 25: Meh. Not ending on a hight note. That solution is a bit… convenient… ![]()
Overall this was very fun to read because every story was really quite different to every other story and I would recommend doing this as an advent calendar to anyone.
Though some of these stories/solutions are so far fetched that I am like… huh? ![]()
Finished at last! I appreciate the variety in the stories, some of the settings and characters were pretty funny (the criminal who famously loves jigsaws?!). The weakness of such short stories is that it can be hard to do much set up and not all of them stood up too well on their own. My favourite story was no. 4!
