A Week in the Life of Japanese Learner - Haya's Study Log

Hello everyone :sparkles:
I’m motivated by everyone here, so I thought I’d start my own log study!

Intro

My name is Haya, currently studing for the jlpt N1 :jp: I love to read in Japanese and to play video games, although adult life made it hard to play like I used to sobs

Things I like for immersion
  • Fiction Books (books with strong friendship/family relationship)
  • Video Games
  • Manga
  • A variety Show Called “Kakeru” <3

Starting Dec 1st (Sunday), I’ll use the whole month to get back into my study routine and review a bunch of stuff before I start N1 prep again.

My 2025 Goals - check the link here for more details

  1. Read 20 Books
  2. Take N1 study seriously
  3. Improve my Speaking → Take online classes
  4. Improve my Writing (by keyboard not hand) → Writing blogs in Japanese
  5. Read 40 vols of Manga
  6. Watch 2 Seasons of My Fav Variety Show
  7. Finish the 366 Books (I have 2)

1 - 12 Jan Update

1- I started a new novel called 毒をもって僕らは (A recommendation from a Japanese booktuber)

2- I didn’t take any JP classes yet because I was away on vacation but I did book 10 classes today and I can’t wait for them already (First class is on the 19th of Jan)

3- I get back to my textbooks (Plan to finish Try N1 before May)

4- My goal is to study for 30 hours this month and as I said because I was on vacation I have only studied 6 hours and 46 minutes so far but I plan to study double the rest of the month so I can reach my goal (hour and 30 mins every day is good) :sparkles:

5- I get back to watch my fav show <3

6- Unfortunately I couldn’t make an account in note but I will try with it later, for now, I wrote half a page in Google Docs, simple and easy until I can think of what to write.

I think its only allowed with vpn orz

For what do you need an account? I clicked on some images and could read all the texts.

Idrc whether I made it with VPN, but I do have one - so it i ran into a bunk like that I did. Are you trying on app or website. What is the error it gives?

I tried the web not the app (I think i need to try with the app now)

I also tried different network and different devices but nothing changed.

They does seem like VPN nonsense. Fwiw I’ve seen ppl mention this as a free VPN: Free VPN with no ads and no speed limits | Proton VPN

I will search for another vpn and if I didn’t work too i will just search for another jp web to write on

Week 3 of 2025

Books & Manga

  • reached 25% of 毒をもって僕らは
  • reached 10% of 君が死にたかった日に、僕は君を買うことにした
  • finished vol 2 of Tokyo Babylon

Drama, Anime, Drama CD, Variety Shows & Games

  • 1 ep of anime
  • 1 ep of kakeru <3

ps. I really need to watch/ listen more orz

Textbook

  • finished lesson 3 of Try N1
  • finished lesson 1 of ミニストーリーで覚える JLPT日本語能力試験ベスト単語N1
  • I am also using a book called Kanji in Context which I didn’t make any worthy process in it

  • Anki → Grammer

Online Class & Writing Update
I had my first class of 2025! its so refreshing and fun :sparkles:
I also start writing in japanese, sometimes as a tweet and sometimes in google doc

Challenge Update
Since my goal this month is to study for 30 hours I am happy to announce that I am 50% done and only 14h 45min left (I know I need to work even harder next week)
