This is an informal book club without a weekly/chapter schedule. A new topic for subsequent volumes will be posted every 2 weeks, but feel free to join and discuss this volume even if later ones have already been posted.
Discussion Guidelines
Spoilers should always be hidden using spoiler blur or hidden sections.
When discussing a specific section, please mention where you are in the book. Mention the page number and/or page header (if available) outside of the spoiler/hidden tag so others know whether it’s safe to read.
If you read ahead, do not discuss content from future volumes. Please save that discussion for when those topics are posted.
I didn’t originally read the whole thing, but it is kind of funny that the author is apologizing for using a title that’s hard to ask about in public.
I forgot to comment about volume two, but there’s not much to say. It was cute and fun as always. I do appreciate that the question of whether Asuka knows it’s Kei isn’t dragged out.
I agree, it was nice the question wasn’t dragged out. Asuka has become my favorite character, since she makes people have the conversations, preventing the story from becoming too inane - which especially in ch 1 it was really bordering on, imo.
Am I right in thinking that Rin is usually a girl’s name, and You is usually a boy’s name? 紬 凛太郎 from 薫る花は凛と咲く is the only male Rin character I can think of
Honestly the stuff with the siblings towards the end kinda irritated me. Like kids playing with gender is cool, but idc for the fact that the gender exploration in this series seems to be one-directional, nor for the conflation of “sister trying to force clothes on brother” with “well, if he wants to”. I get what it was going for, just didn’t land well for me. I did think they were enjoyable in general tho.
Otherwise I’m enjoying the progression(s) well enough
I associate Rin as a girl’s name simply because of Love Live. Now that I think about it, You is also a girl’s name in Love Live Sunshine. What is my life?
