The text is quite repetitive. In the beginning it tripped me up, I think she mentions she was a “wild kid running around in the mountains” like 3 times in what felt like 3 pages, using the exact same phrasing.
Same thing with 優秀な八歳 - as each time I wanted to add a tsukkomi like “what do you mean a capable 8 year old, he’s creepy as hell!! Psychopath skills!”, so I really noticed how often we said that.
Feels a bit SRS-y, “can you manage it again without a lookup? What about 2 minutes later? What about in this review in the end of the chapter?” haha
Pace wise - I don’t mind taking it slow but I’m very curious if we’re cutting the chapters by the POV change. I hope we are, that would be a reasonable stopping point, assuming it’s feasible.

It could work just fine if it was not a game world and not an isekai if she had got a glimpse of the future instead of her “past life”. Or she may be remembering her past life, but it’s just another iteration of the current one. I have read two series who do that: ループ7回目の悪役令嬢は、元敵国で自由気ままな花嫁生活を満喫する | L31 and 草魔法師クロエの二度目の人生 自由になって子ドラゴンとレベルMAX薬師ライフ | L29 and it feels much more organic than “I got sent into a video game”.
To me, the only reason to have the world be from a game is so that you can keep game elements, like in 悪役令嬢レベル99 ~私は裏ボスですが魔王ではありません~ カドカワBOOKS | L30 or 悪役令嬢になんかなりません。私は『普通』の公爵令嬢です! | L30, but it’s clearly not the case here.
Still, it’s first LN I read that used that approach (well, it’s one of the first LN I read period), so it still felt fine on first read.
Historically, it kinda is, though. While はめふら is apparently not the first to do that, that series is widely seen as popularizing the genre.
It did? What game are you talking about? As far as I know, the game she is in isn’t a real thing (I think it would be problematic copyright-wise otherwise).
She does mention that she won’t be trying to antagonize her herself (but she realizes that people around her may still do it on their own, having the blame put on her instead).
I’m just surprised that she just says “yes” randomly when people ask her something she didn’t listen to on an interrogative tone. Like, an 8 years old doing that? Sure, but she is supposed to be more mature than that based on her past life experience. (Emphasis on “supposed” I guess)
I mean, okay, I feel like I *need *to give some spoilers here: if anyone comes in this series expecting her to be aro-ace, you will be disappointed.
Also, overall, people seem somewhat fine with the pace. Let’s keep it up one more week (as things should get easier since the setting is basically explained already).
Ah, no, sorry, I meant the original game in-world. I could’ve sworn it mentioned the four routes as prince, other prince, Katarina’s step-brother, and Katarina herself? Did I misread? I was reading a bit fast there at the end.
Interesting. What causes the discrepancy for her to be a rep for that if that’s not how she is in the books?
The last route is the “reverse harem” route, where you get all the guys (and Katarina still gets kicked out).
I don’t know the fandom (and I haven’t seen the anime), so I can’t really say. I guess the anime just ends before it’s made obvious?
Edit: okay, to be fair (?), I haven’t been able to find any mention of her being taken as aro ace in Japanese. There are hits in English, though, but it may just be overreaching on their part.

The level 99 obliviousness was what lead to this perception, I believe. It seemed to shape into an innocent harem route so I am now very excited hahaha.

There’s an in-world justification for it, which has nothing to do withbeing aro ace. Also, for a more media-aware reason, you just can’t build a harem by accident (which is necessary, since otherwise that would make her extremely manipulative, which is not the intended goal) without being unbelievably oblivious.
