As you may have noticed, I have added French to the site!
French users, let me know what you think! And any feedback you have, let me know. If you encounter a bug, be sure to log a bug report in the Product Requests category .

Maybe there should be an announcement somewhere on the main site that French is available, or an email notification sent out to users who have French listed on their profiles? It seems like only users who frequent the forum would be aware of it right now, unless they stumble onto the new French option coincidentally.

Yes, I was thinking we could do a bit more promotion and maybe even a banner, perhaps once we get the catalog a bit more filled out (give it a week or so).
However, we are already getting some grassroots groundswell and we even have a few french only users on the site 
The dreaming languages community continues to be our strongest base of support for non eastern languages!

That’s awesome to hear other communities are already taking notice!
I was thinking more users would make filling out the catalogue go quicker, but I guess it’s nicer to wait and build up content for new users to see when they start instead of putting them to work

Not sure if it’s a bug so checking here: are French books not pulling blurbs from Amazon automatically, or is there just a long delay for blurbs to fill with the delayed book addition process? It seems like almost none of the books in the French section have blurbs, even the ones that were among the first added, and even though there are blurbs on the Amazon pages.

@gillianfaith Thanks for the note! Apparently french series just don’t really have blurbs…
For french books i’ll now check to see if there’s any series blurb, if not i’ll just use the volume blurbs. May expand that functionality to other languages at some point if it works well.
Also, you can now add new books via amazon.ca !

I added L'orphelin de Perdide | L27?? which has a blurb on Amazon FR, but it didn’t arrive at Natively, yet.

Yes, we have some blurbs issues going on. Thanks for noting that already existing Product Request @bibliothecary ! Will address that too.

I just wanted to update everyone - I’ve resolved a lot of syncing issues for french books, especially from amazon.ca. You shouldn’t see significant issues going forward. You can also expect that syncs will be done in around a day or so, rather than the numerous days they were taking before!
I’ve also fixed the blurbs issues going forward I think.. but i need to backfill still. Will do that soon.
