Be able to search by furigana

  • Community editable furigana tag

What’s considered worthy of marking a book with a furigana tag? Full furi? Some percentage of partial furi?

Full furi only. Of course, manga and what not might have a little non-furigana in non-essential scrawls / notes (even yotsubato does that), but yes full furigana for the main text.

Bumping this (sorry if this kind of thing is a no-no) since the topic was brought to mind again recently and @brandon’s been working on search filters as well.

Oh right! Yeah, I’ll be honest, i’ve always been a bit hesitant to add furigana search, as i’m not totally happy with how it’s implemented now, but it probably makes sense to add FWIW.

I figure it might get changed up once tags are implemented, but just wanted to plant that seed in your mind for now. :seedling:

Currently we have a ā€œfull furiganaā€ tag you can search on, but we also have the ā€œone of the ā€˜where to find’ links is marked with the F for full furiganaā€ information. You can search on the tag, assuming you know it exists, but there doesn’t seem to be any way to search on the F information, and the two aren’t in sync (e.g. ć‚»ćƒ¼ćƒ©ćƒ¼ęœćØę©Ÿé–¢éŠƒ | L30 has links to the full furigana version of the book, but no tags yet). It would be nice to surface this in the search UI a little more prominently and to clean up the data inconsistencies.
