I read a bit of today’s week already instead of delaying it until the weekend as usual.
I actually regret joking about that.
But Natsuki’s face on page 144(? After the kiss) did kinda break me. I’m glad that I got answers about (1) why a kiss on the lips and (2) how is it decided who controls who since it seemed symmetrical (also, that means that, if Natsuki learns to control magic well enough he could get to win by kissing them instead; I sadly do not care about that situation anymore at this point though).
I read up to page 154 and it indeed didn’t last too long, but I’m still unhappy about it.
Well, I literally nominated the book, so that one is on me. But, except for that one part, I have no regrets so far.
Also, page 178 made it better, enough so that I can just shrug it off.
(Also, I ended up finishing the book and I did like it overall)
Hold on, the omake is digital only? Is there no omake in the physical version, or is it a different one? (Or is it just that Natsuki says “thank you for buy the physical version” instead of “thank you for buying the digital version”?)
Same for me. I’m here for the cuteness, and I guess the whole “being kissed against your will” thing doesn’t vibe particularly well with me in the first place, so I think this sequence with the frankly unnecessary extra elements beside kissing (even though it was short and clearly didn’t leave any scars on Natsuki, agreed) was what pushed me over the “Guess this manga isn’t for me after all” edge.
Which is a pity, because I want to see more Natsuki and I kind of want to see how it continues, but it feels a bit weird now, so… (And I’m sure there will be plenty more parts that would be uncomfortable for me.)
In other news, I finished the volume. I’m glad to see that Spade not wanting to destroy the world wasn’t a plot hole after all and I was right in my assessment earlier
Time for week 6, although, if it’s just @eefara and me, I’d rather just read the rest of the series
I’m just going to make a quick poll to see who is still planning to read with the book club. If there isn’t that much interest, we should probably just go ahead with the next book?
I am reading along and plan to do so for volume 3+
I am reading along, but plan to stop after volume 2
(Week 5 spoiler, though I’m pretty sure you can catch this detail early on in volume 1) I’m always impressed/amazed by ハート’s footwear choice. I’ll give him props, I can’t think of any other man, fictional or otherwise, who would choose to wear stiletto high heels.
We gotta be equal opportunity here.
Week 6: lmao, I can’t believe that excuse of “I fell asleep in the closet” worked. …Does this happen often, Natsuki? Anyway, I always like 渡 when he shows up in a scene; he seems like he has an idea of what’s going on? Maybe? Hard to tell, and I feel like it’d be really difficult to put the pieces together from just seeing bits and pieces like he likely has. We end with a mysterious お兄さん And apparently ハート keeps the stilettos even when he’s trying to blend in with normal people.
I really, really, reeeeaaaalllly want to read this series! But I’m not sure my japanese is good enough to catch up to you on time since you’re already halfway through book 2
Quick question, does it have furigana? The tags doesn’t mention it. My kanji knowledge is still very barebones, but if it got furigana, I think I might be able to catch on quickly enough Otherwise I’ll probably habe to haunt this club later.
I think so, but don’t quote me, and I don’t know if it’s for every kanji; my copy’s at home, so if no one else is able to chime in I can check after work.
I just read the trial on book walker and while it’s def a step up of what I usually read, it got full furigana and with lots of look ups it’s manageable. So I think I’ll try to catch up.
I mean, how could I not? It’s got a magical bunny boy! ^^
Done with this week, just in time as well (as usual)
I really liked the いたいのいたいのとんでけ, and the nurse outfit is pretty cute.
Kinda meh about the shot of ダイヤ’s breasts as she recalls the feeling of hugging a 12yo, but I’ll just put that on the pile of stuff I don’t want to think about.
