How to track progress on ebooks

Hi there, currently reading an ebook that I’ve also got a paper copy of. I love updating my progress on the site with the page number after each session, by cross-checking ttsu-reader against the paper copy.

When reading an ebook, how can one track progress? Ereader’s don’t typically have page numbers but locations. Is my only option to track time or ?

What I’ll typically do is swap over to tracking via percentage, since ebooks do show that consistently:

You’ll want to clock the little up/down arrows next to “page” in “Current page” to bring it up.

just a note, if the ebook you’re reading doesn’t have anything in the no of pages field, trying to update by percentages will fail. to avoid this, add the number of pages into the field (you’ll have to try and find this information elsewhere, as most ebooks that aren’t manga I think don’t retain the page numbers - try using the ISBN for lookup)

@eefara @Jintor Brilliant, thanks guys, will give that a go. I don’t know why, tracking by percentages just isn’t as satisfying for me, I just love paper books. I will go back to reading them once my Japanese level is much higher.

Even if you track percentage it will show up as e.g. “Read pages 103 to 114” in the activity log - so maybe that helps a bit with the satisfaction.
