Description of your request or bug report:
Due to Han unification, some Kanji will be shown the default variant (usually zh-CN
), if lang="ja-JP"
is not specified in HTML tags. Some unicode points have multiple forms included, to be displayed according to lang
attribute.
This is also according to browser’s settings. On my mobile, I can only set one language, and it is English, rather than secondarily Japanese or whatever.
Not sure if some consideration has to be made for lang="ko"
. Otherwise, I don’t think Chinese variants (lang="zh-*"
) are supported (yet) on the website.
Usually Kanji forms aren’t crazily different, but there are exceptions, such as 角, 直.
