I tried to choose based on library availability, but what do you know, every book is available (not guaranteed to be available when we start reading of courseā¦)
In any case, no nomination will be removed as of now. We will only address this āproblemā when we actually have it - meaning, when our nominations threaten to be more than 20.
So funny - I looked at your post and was like āoh how cool, omk posted a poll!ā and then I looked at the options and my brain went āomg all the entries are in German! Whatās going onnnnn ā then I remembered the German Krimi book club
On the other hand, I often forget what language I read something in, especially when itās something short like a post or a book title. As long as itās understandable, language is irrelevant. Itās harder not to notice with Japanese, but English vs German I would probably only notice if it gave me trouble.
One more day till we have our runoff vote (unless there are last minute changes). Iām debating changing my vote to make it a 4-way tie for extra fun, but maybe not?
A couple hours ago we seemed to unexpectedly have one clear winner. Now weāre back to a 3-way tie. And votes are getting fewerā¦
Has the mystery started before we even begin reading?
Okay, two questions now. First off, when would you like to start reading?

Second, the book is 416 pages long. I donāt have a copy yet, but it seems to have 37 chapters, so roughly 10-12 pages per chapter maybe? How would you like our pacing to be?
30-40 pages per week
50-60 pages per week
70-80 pages per week
90-100 pages per week

Ah, and a third question. @nikoru , as the one who nominated it, would you like to host? Or shall I?
At least on audible.de there ist also an audiobook available. I am still contemplating whether I gonna hear the audiobook or buy the (physical or digital) book
I think Biblio must have meant at the library, where it is indeed very popular. Otherwise itās available in every (e)book store there is.
Aha! I think I want to buy from Thalia and support them! No drm is such a rare beast!
No problem at all
Actually I think most members here are either native or near fluent at reading, at least for now, so it would be totally fair for you to vote, and for everyone else to vote. If someone really needs a slower pacing, please say so! Weāll try to accommodate everyone as much as possible.
It is, right? Although it seems that for technical/software development books it is rather the standard to have DRM-free epubās, so coming from there I was rather shocked to learn about the DRMed world of fictionā¦
I think I will close the polls on Monday, so if anyone has strong opinions about pacing or start date and hasnāt voted yet, this is the time to do so!
