I just realised that for series I’ve just been submitting a report for the first volume - does changing the category affect all items in a series, or do series allow different categories?
It seems like the 창비청소년문학 publisher series was classed as children’s books before it was split, so all the individual books were also classed incorrectly. It might be worth double-checking the category is right before splitting mega series (like https://learnnatively.com/series/ff0da9e5af/ which I’ve submitted a report for).
I’ve come across some books that seem like they should be YA, but Yes24 classes them as novels. 완득이 | L31 and 아몬드 | L28 both fall into this category, but both won YA literature awards. Thoughts?
I noticed there are 10 different editions of 어린왕자 in the db - I’m guessing they shouldn’t be merged since they’re presumably different translations, but I’m wondering if Crosslinking between different media forms of the same title/property will also be used for linking different editions, or whether there’s some other solution in the works?
I think a lot of webnovels that have been released as books have ended up in the YA category because they’re similar to LNs, but Yes24 generally classes these as genre fiction. For example 레벨업 닥터 최기석 | L22?? and 나 혼자만 레벨업 시리즈 | L28 (which seems to have mixed categories, which answers my previous question). So how should these kinds of books be categorised?
I remember a discussion about categories, I think it was specifically regarding magazines(?), but short stories also came up as the current category seems to include both standalone short stories as well as anthologies. Since there’s a tag for short story collections, should anthologies me moved to a more suitable category (YA, novels)? An example is 그래서 우리는 사랑을 하지 | 박서련 | 돌베개 - 예스24 which is described as a queer YA romance collection, which seems more suited to the YA category.
I’ve gone through all the Korean children’s, YA, and novels, and I’ve submitted reports for all the misclassified books. I hope that’s all of them, anyway.
