大阪弁 girl’s resolution seemed pretty ridiculous. Like the talk it out thing made sense for the kid, who was an outsider, and didn’t specifically wanna be involved… This girl works for the guy, seemingly very closely, but doesn’t seem at all concerned about her job or ザガート being upset. Isn’t he supposed to be this terrifying, evil guy? Like he got rid of the first person who failed, pretty mercilessly
Also, how did Ray and the other girl just not have injuries after the first battle? Like we saw them get cut and have blood coming out. At least show the injuries healing. Maybe their armor just auto-heals them? I’m gonna say it’s that
So if I’m understanding the hinting right, the entire reason for this story is that ザガート is in love with the princess, and upset she doesn’t love him back, so he decides to dominate the world? If so, no wonder she doesn’t love you back
Interesting use of title drop for the 3rd マシン - now we finally know what that’s about. Also I wonder if the レー part is like “light ray”, this relating to Himari’s name
Anyway this guy was a lot more interesting/less ridiculous than the girl before, and I enjoyed the fight more.
Overall I’m not really not a fan of how repetively formulaic and simplistic this story is, but I’ve enjoyed this volume more than the previous 2. I feel like their good moments outshine this one’s so far, but also this has just been more evenly paced and less dragged out. Anyway we’ll see how part 3 goes
Phew, this was a busy week. Osaka girl ended up bowing out way easier than I really thought she should; she felt a bit phoned-in with her heel-face turn. Anyway, we run straight to the fire temple, learning on the side that ザガート apparently has an ulterior, currently unknown goal. 光’s 魔神 is unsurprisingly, some kind of wolf/lion combo; I was surprised that its name was レイアース, though; why is the series named after it?
I was hoping that ラファーガ might play a larger role in the princess’ rescue, but I guess we’re just way out of page space at this point. I wouldn’t mind one extra volume, I have to say, just to let some of this breathe just a bit.
I feel like ザガート’s giant mirror in the sky would’ve been found out pretty early on, right? Like, a giant mirror? It’s cool, but I can think of all kinds of problems with that. I was also wondering how the fight with him was going to go down now that our girls are all in their mechs (which is a hilarious thing for me, given how classic fantasy this has been so far), and with him having his own mech I’m hoping for a neat fight.
Agreed. I think he even vaporized that first chick as well in front of everyone, haha.
