What I’ve been reading
Finished 赤ずきんチャチャ 4 (りぼんマスコットコミックス 759 ) | L18 this week. It’s kind of rewarding that this series feels so much easier at volume 4 than it did at volume 1. Thankfully, less reference to the poorly aged running gag from earlier volumes.
Started ニッターズハイ!3 | L20. I’m noticing that I have a weak spot when people start talking about their emotions… and I think there’s no cure for that other than to read more shoujo.
Also, look at this boy. How could I not love him?
What I’ve been watching
After a couple of episodes, I got used to the aristocrat-lite speech in 乙女ゲームの破滅フラグしかない悪役令嬢に転生してしまった… S1 | L25 and it’s less of a struggle now.
I’d been looking forward to dark precure arc in ふたりはプリキュア Splash Star S1 | L21 but like everything else in this season, it felt like a weaker version of something that happened in OG series. 
They even gave Kaoru and Michiru the same necklace as Kiriya. At least the Pollun-like characters that show up midway through the season are less annoying than Pollun… so far.
So far mono S1 | L22 and アン・シャーリー S1 | L24 are my favorite of this season’s anime.
What I’ve been playing
This is what I was excited about in my last update! This game has sucked up most of my free time this weekend. It’s really fun! And pretty easy to read, even at my lower-intermediate level. If I could grade this, I’d probably put it on the lower end of the purples.
And now, I need to romance more anime girlfriends… またね！

Another conversation tutoring session… And even though I was really tired from work, I feel really good about today. I’m starting to be able to have something resembling a conversation in Japanese. Also, I learned that even Japan has been hearing about the cost of eggs in the US. 
She also taught me the word for Pride Month プライド月間, since I mentioned that we usually have a big pride parade in my city in June.

What I’ve Been Reading
I was down with a summer cold for part of this week, but when I felt up for it I spent some time reading.
Finished volume 2 of ざつ旅-That's Journey- 2 | L24 and the extremely specific train/temple/etc vocab is interesting, but means it takes me a bit to get through each volume. It’ll be interesting if I choose to go back and re-watch the anime after I finish the manga to see how much that improves my listening comprehension.
Also read きみの色 1 | L20 while I was recovering from my cold. I think I’ll hold off writing a review until I’ve finished up the whole series (it appears the final volume is scheduled to come out this month). It’s fun to see Kimi and Rui’s backstories fleshed out a bit in volume 1 though.
And even though I said I was going to wait a little while, I started 私の拳をうけとめて! 2 | L22 and while Takebe’s yancha speak is still a challenge… I didn’t want to set it aside for a few months and then never come back to it.

As mentioned, I’ve been playing Tokimeki Memorial… I don’t know if anyone wants to see pictures from my playthrough, but this game is wild and I’m having a good time.

I’d intended to read it on a flight, so I picked it out because it had a relatively low level. Plus, I liked the movie. But then I ended up a with a headache the whole time I was on the plane, so I didn’t actually start it until now.
I saw on bookwalker that the last volume just came out…
