(which I just noticed is NewRelic so probably not the most important)
I tried looking at the code it points to, but it’s looking kind of like generated code (and so hard to read)
It’s working for me now, but yes I always decline cookie consent popups that are too annoying. If there’s no “necessary cookies only” button, I always click “decline”, because I’m definitely not accepting all cookies and usually the detailed selection popups are too annoying to bother with.
Noted. Yeah, necessary cookies are always included in all sites FWIW, even when you hit decline. These consents are only for tracking cookies.
Regardless, it does seem like the root issue here was once again a cookie consent issue, ugh. Their package update seemed to have an error which broke the site. Will try to reimplement the cookie consent soon, but this was the last straw… I’m going to have to move away from that cookie manager now.
Edit: FWIW I’ve also removed non-essential cookies for everyone now, until I resolve this issue.
I know I haven’t been around recently. I’ll be honest - I’ve been working through some personal motivation issues. Hopefully will be back at it soon, but always here to address things like this
At some point I may make a longer post about it, but only after I’m back at it. I really appreciate all your support
On mobile (Safari), sometimes when trying to scroll in the review you’re writing, it’ll scroll the page behind it instead. I got a screenshot of it scrolling horizontally since that’s easier to see plus the only one I can do on purpose, but it’ll scroll vertically as well. It can be annoying enough sometimes trying to scroll the pop-up vs the text box, and then with this thrown into the mix it’s even worse.
Not sure if this has been talked about before, but for some series the blurb being the same for all of the books is a bit confusing. For example, I just started listening to the audiobook for ノーマンズランド | L30?? which the Japanese blurb on the site I bought it said was about missing child cold case and a recent college student murder, but the blurb on Natively opens with “Volume 1 Introduction: The slaughtered body of a man, wrapped in a plastic sheet, is found in a plantation near a reservoir!” which threw me off for a second.
tldr If I modify this summary, will it edit all the books in the series? Or can I safely edit individual volumes?
I think you have to request for each volumes in a series to get a different summary. Otherwise, they all the the series summary, a.k.a. the first volume’s summary.
If you try to edit the blurb on a later volume, it should tell you that you have to edit from the series page.
I think the concern was partly that “no one would enter and translate the summaries for all the volumes in every series” and partly spoilers, thus: first volume summary = full-series summary. (I think it’s BS, but.)
Yeah, I found that recently with the Kindaichi books. A way to flag the series as “the books in this series can be read standalone, fetch and auto translate the Amazon blurbs for each book individually rather than using a single blurb for the series” might be useful.
I think this issue applies to all series where the individual books are only connected by theme (e.g. the same detective solves multiple cases) but not strongly by contents, or even where there is no connection at all between the books, they just happen to be grouped together (I reported a German series once where this was the case). Seems to me that this should rather be addressed on a global level - what do you think @brandon?
The book is listed in pyororon’s Finished list, so for some reason the top activity gloss isn’t updating.
Other bug:
I submitted a request for two more books to be added to 放課後ミステリクラブ 1金魚の泳ぐプール事件 | L22, and got a confirmation that they were. When I check the book, though, I see this:
I had ふしぎ駄菓子屋 銭天堂 1 | L23 on my wish list, then moved it directly to Reading via the book’s page. When I checked my activity feed, I saw that it set the start time for the book to 00:00, seven hours ago for me, instead of the actual current time:
I added ‘cult’ to a book where that tag was appropriate
I added a different tag to the same book, but forgot to mark it as a spoiler
I realized this and clicked ‘remove tag’. It didn’t seem to work so I thought maybe I didn’t actually click it, and clicked again. Still nothing happened.
I refreshed the page and both tags were gone.
I tried to re-add the original ‘cult’ tag and got the error ‘Tag already exists for this item’
More fun: I still can’t see that tag when I refresh the page Using inspect I see the genre tags are held within the class item-tags but the item-tags div for the section below is empty, so it’s not even a display issue, that data is not present on the page for me.
However, when I open the same page on a different browser I can see the tag. Maybe some weird caching issue? I recently switched to Brave on my Windows machine, which in theory should be giving me fewer issues because it’s a Chromium browser
Not sure if this is related to other tag issues mentioned, but I can’t remove a tag that was imported from AniList. I click “remove tag” and nothing happens.
