Any chance a fix for the 本好き manga error issue is on your list? Pretty sure it was for 本好きの下剋上 第四部 manga.
Since last spring can’t view any search it’s in, including my own owned manga.

oh goodness, apologies! You mean if you search in your library it errored out?
I fixed my daily sync between the db & the library search so now it catches if I update a duplicate book and your library isn’t synced properly. Basically, I think it’s working for you now? Let me know if it works (it seems to).

Which is weird because if I search for bookworm it pulls up manga for parts 1-3, and if I search Honzuki it pulls up manga parts 2-4, so it’s something unique to that search term?
I’m not on desktop currently but I’d bet the console errors are the same ones I noted on this post

Fixed! I found 3 books where if they appeared in search results it would break it. I’ve set up a weekly sync to make sure this doesn’t happen in the future.
Now onto fixing a few of the other search issues people have encountered…

Is there a way to reject being a collaborator on a list?

You can remove yourself. As a collaborator you can edit a list and remove collaborators (including yourself :))

An invalid entry here as well for a recently contributed manga. https://learnnatively.com/book/2f442a1147/
When viewing “My Books” I have to filter out “Owned”, otherwise I get the error “Error: Issues with our servers.”

@brandon Speaking of “daily processes” like you mentioned in the book blurb topic, do you have one that will convert series page from the old format to the new format? A bunch of series still don’t have sync buttons and require manual requests to get new volumes. It would be great if they could all be updated to have a sync button.

Agreed that would be nice. Feel free to send a request if you encounter one. The issue is that we don’t have the Amazon series info in the system (url) and sometimes this is due to the fact that Amazon only later adds a kindle series.

That looks like it was fixed by the daily process! At least, your library looks to be working now, apologies on that. Been doing a lot of deduping recently.
Haha, yeah that’s a fair call, but @Biblio is the easy solution until it’s really an issue

Sync not working for Re：ゼロから始める異世界生活 | L32
It says it’s syncing, but doesn’t actually update, and continues to say last sync March 6, 2023. It’s not picking up the current season, even tho it’s on TMDB

Fixed! It’s because TMDB collapsed it to one season, ugh.

Minor, very far off suggestion: I know you can filter updates to only show reviews, but it’d be kind of cool to get a preview of the actual review or something. I find community reviews useful at the current scale.

Yeah, I’d like something that’s kind of like the activity feed but with the full text of reviews in it. Reading other peoples’ reviews is interesting, but constantly having to click through from the activity feed list to the actual review and back again makes it pretty tedious to do that.

I forget: are dictionaries generally marked as “Textbook” or “Other” on the site?

I would assume textbook because they’re rated differently aren’t they? I don’t even know how a dictionary could be rated against anything not a reference (ie, poetry collections are something I’d put in Other)

So much nicer seeing actual book covers than placeholder images.

The Amazon placeholder images annoy me, so I try suggesting real covers whenever I see them in people’s lists or in the newly-added section haha. Usually Anilist or Suruga-ya will have high-quality cover images available.
