He mentioned he got really sick, too I’m mostly concerned because he said something to the effect of “But don’t worry, I’ll be around a lot more next week” right before he went silent, without following up on if his visa/health/everything situation is okay… so now I worry.
Taking care of himself should always come first before developing a free project, but I wish there was more communication with the community about what’s going on so we know whether he’s taking a break or if something has happened.
Does anyone know if the way buy links are added when a series/book is an automated process or if it’s something that needs to happen manually? Does it happen if you try and resync a series using the button?
Do you mean like the different locations you can buy the book? If so, I think the Amazon one gets populated automatically but the others get populated once the series is approved (and with Brandon away for an unknown amount of time, we haven’t gotten any approvals in a while and not sure when they’ll resume). There’s also a way to add them manually if they don’t get picked up by the automated process (or are a source that isn’t included in the automated process). I’m not sure wether or not you can add sources to a book waiting for approval though.
Yeah I just checked and the last email I have was May 4. I usually delete them so that isn’t to say that there wasn’t a later approval I got. But considering that we used to get them at most weekly, it’s another cause for concern.
I was looking at adding buy links to some books but it’s a bit annoying when they’re multi-vol and you have to go one by one… being able to reboot a crawler would be cool (esp for books added before a certain date that don’t seem to have anything except the amazon links)
Honestly, I’m more worried that the whole thing will just disappear randomly.
