Fixing again…
Edit: Fixed! Issue was that one of our programs had some settings set only in memory.. so the restart because of the Amazon AWS issues wiped those settings which caused the recurring issues. For the technical people here.. our redis cache server had it’s max memory wiped and was running automatic background saves .. which doubles the memory usage temporarily.
I’ve now updated the persistant config file with the correct settings so reboots now don’t cause issues.
Is it me, or do updating the episode count of an anime from the “Basic Info” and “Progress Update” tabs not work? I changed the value in the input and clicked the save button, but nothing happened in either case. I had to actually open the show page, scroll down to the episodes list, and then click the button to mark the episode as watched. I’m just looking for a faster way to do this, ideally from my list page.
Could you give me a few more specifics? Does it happen for all tv shows? Just a particular show? If you give me a step by step i’ll try to reproduce
Sorry, I don’t watch enough TV to test on multiple shows right now. This is happening for 【推しの子】 S3 | L30 at least. I opened the edit popup (tried from the list page and the show page itself), changed the episode count, and saved. But then when I opened the popup again it still showed the previous number, and when I went to the show page that episode was not marked as watched.
Hmmm. So it looks like it was in a ‘populating’ state.. which I think caused the issues. When it’s ‘populating’ there shouldn’t be any episodes so that’s probably why it wasn’t marking the episodes as watched.
I reran the ‘populate episodes’ command and it seems to have been moved out of that state appropriately. Is everything working for you now?
Frankly, i’m not entirely sure how it got into that bad state originally and now since it’s in a good state, it’s somewhat hard to diagnose. I’ll poke around though and see if I can find more seasons in bad states.
Edit: I have also fixed the issue that caused the original problem to manifest too ![]()
Doing an infrastructure tweak (reorganizing our cache infrastructure)… should only be down 10 mins or so
Ok, we’re back up but we will be slower for the next 20 mins or so.. bear with us. For our technical users - we’re warming the cache right now.. so the first time seeing a certain item (book/movie/tv season) it may be a little slow.
Ok… so my cache warming process killed the server… will be back up very shortly! (<3 mins)
Ok… so we’re back up but we lost all progress on our pre warming of the cache… things will be very slow. I will try to make a better warmer that doesn’t kill the server, otherwise things will slowly speed up over the next few hours. Items that are seen for the first time will be slow, but subsequent views will be very fast.
Will let you know if i figure out the prewarmer ![]()
Edit: Ok, the cache is prewarmed now.. speeds should be back to normal!
I reported this directly, but 【推しの子】 S3 | L30 had its episodes messed up with a recent sync. Now it has the whole series’ episodes, not just the third season’s. Plus, while at first it still kept my watched episodes, those appear to have disappeared now. In typical themoviedb fashion, they seemed to have combined all the seasons into one for no good reason, so that’s probably the cause.
The link on the third season is straight-up wrong though. It leads to a completely unrelated show. The link is wrong on the earlier seasons as well.
Do note that the first two seasons haven’t been synced in 1-2 months, so there’s a good chance if they get synced their episode lists will get messed up to.
Slowdown happening right now… investigating.
@seanblue will investigate that too!
Edit: Slowdown is resolved~
Again… investigating slowness. Should be resolved shortly.
Edit: Resolved
Ok, this actually proved quite complicated and necessitated me to build a new admin flow and utilities… but I think it’s now fixed! And we now have proper utilities for dealing with TMDB collapsing to one series better ![]()
If you see any more issues, let us / librarians know~
Thanks! Can you tell me if my episodes watched for this season still exists? They aren’t showing as watched anymore, but if I mark them as watched again I want to make sure they don’t get double counted somehow for my stats. Plus it’s possible that other people’s watched data has gotten messed up too.
My other question is whether this fix you made will prevent seasons one and two from getting messed up if they get synced. Basically, does your new process prevent these issues from occurring or just make it easier to fix after the fact?
The activity list on my dashboard has only 10 entries instead of 50 before and there is no way to see the rest.
I use iPad‘s Safari v 26.5.
Thanks for letting us know! Apologies, I will fix this.
Fix is pushed and will be live in ~15 minutes or so. I’ll let you know again.
While we are at it: We were wondering how many activities people would like to initially look at in their feed (without pressing the “Load More” button). What would be a good number for y’all?
It’s back now ![]()
Thank you very much, but still there are only 10 items, so it will take ages to see all entries of one day.
