How would I play kiss if I didn’t have a steady?
I feel like stuff like that is more okay since it’s realistic that a lot of people are bad at English.
狼と香辛料’s title page has: Merchant meats spicy wolf.
Seems perfectly fine, though a bit stiff. Surprised to see the use of steady. “Play kiss” seems ok to me tbh, depending on the character or surrounding context
If anything that would be the time to play kiss, no? Might even result in a steady… Who knows?
Getting a steady is the dream
Or all the completely random German words in a LOT of fantasy or isekai. Sometimes the names are kind of hilarious (I like the gods in ascendance of a bookworm Someone at least tried there) or kind of fit because the world is inspired by Germany like in Spy x Family but then you have stories like Frieren or Violet Evergarden and it just feels like someone opened a dictionary on random pages and named characters and places after the first word they found.
There was even one anime where the plot was about finding a murderer and one character was named the German word for “dying”. Guess who was the murderer… It was probably way less interesting for the German audience ![]()
本好き comes to mind. It includes stuff like ベロイヒクローネ, supposedly from beleuchten(照らす)+Krone(冠)
There’s a whole (spoiler full) list here
I loved that arc ![]()
