My copy arrived! Will try to catch up with the week’s reading

And we’re off to a quite poetic and a little bit mysterious start!
I also found it to be a tad more difficult than other 小川洋子 books, at least when it comes to vocabulary. What do y‘all think?

For the mysteriousness, we have two story lines, one from the nameless (I think?) theater seat guide, and the other from 砂和子, whose deceased father held a theater ticket despite him being blind. How will these two lines get united?

I am finding it rather harder going just now than the last book that we read here, 寡黙な死骸みだらな弔. I am hoping to be pulled along a bit by everyone’s comments here soon as I am rather behind already. Btw my book looks the same as @domjcw ‘s one. It occurs to me that this probably also has more words per page than the last book. Seems interesting so far though.

I am already behind! I was beta-reading a friend’s novel, so I prioritized that last week. Hopefully I will not lag too far behind everyone else.

I’m catching up.
The first couple of pages were hard! I still am not sure I caught all of it. Some of the description of the backstage world was also tricky, partly because of various author and actor names and some specialised vocabulary.
But the overall atmosphere and style are very familiar.
I’m puzzled. The letter is sealed. Why didn’t the blind father open it? (I mean I guess he may not have been able to read it, but surely he could have found someone to help)
