Still a little bit of setup before things start moving, but we should be getting close, I feel. Real curious how this is all going to start going down.
I felt the same, we’re building towards a conclusion now. Will be interesting to see how this all resolves. Alex to save his mother’s life?
We finally reached La ciudad de las Bestias! Not unexpectedly they are kinder and less ferocious than we had imagined, but surprisingly able to talk and communicate as well. A strange council with the children and Walimai. While there is lots of magic here, there is a very real understanding of the reality of the situation, and Alex very aware of the threat to the Indians and these creatures.
Listened to this chapter and then didn’t read it until several weeks later, so I didn’t have a super clear memory of it .
Totally missed that the bestias were basically giant sloths! I knew perezoso, but not as a word for an animal . So that flew over my head when listening initially.
There was a lot in this chapter I either didn’t understand very well when listening initially, or totally forgot about by the time I read it, haha . The next chapter looks a bit shorter, thankfully, so I’m hoping I can get to that soon!
