It took a while, but I finished the book.
The ending was more positive than expected and surprisingly cute. Adventure awaits! I don’t think I’d be anywhere close to accepting my situation if I were in the same position as Kaito.
I’m not quite sure if I’ll continue the series or not. The ending makes me want to find out what happens next, but I don’t think I really support their relationship. I feel like Kaito deserves better. Why couldn’t they have started out as cute as they were in the last chapters? Then I could cheer for them. But no, Geoffrey just had to get on my shit list with his earlier behaviour. Maybe I should just wait until I’ve forgotten why I was so pissed at Geoffrey before I read the next volume.
Either way, I’m glad I gave the book a try. It’s not one I would have picked myself, but I enjoyed reading it.
