Any spoilers, for the current chapters must be behind spoilers or detail curtains. When we get further in you don’t need to hide details that were revealed in previous chapters.
Always mention where you are in the book when discussing, ideally by chapter so people reading different versions have a clear point of reference.
Feel free to read ahead if it’s exciting! But please refrain from spoiling ahead of the appropriate week
If you have a question about grammar, vocab, cultural things, etc - ask! That can be part of the discussion too and I’m sure some folks would be happy to help.
Even if you don’t read the chapter(s) in time, you are still encouraged to post in the thread for that reading once you have finished it. I advise not reading ahead in the threads as you may see spoilers.
皆、お疲れ様です! Thanks for reading along the whole way, and looking forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts
感想
I loved the way that Mikoto & Tsubaki worked together, tho I wasn’t that into the way Nekozaki & her mom resolved things. It felt way too simple - like there was just never any issue at all. Otoh the epilogue is fun and hilarious!! And it’s cute seeing Mikoto call Nekozaki “Ren”. I would have liked to see a proper confrontation & “I’m dumping you” scene btwn Tsubaki & the teacher (she did dump her, right? I wasn’t fully paying attention at that point)
Overall I enjoyed reading this, though spreading it out over such a period made it less enjoyable than the first time around. For whatever reason, this works better for me to read all at once. I think I saw/felt some more of the series’ flaws this time around (maybe I’m just more critical, now that I’ve read more), but I still like it enough to recommend to others!
Makoto and Nekozaki had a lot of cute moments and it was overall enjoyable to watch them grow closer together. There was some drama but to me at least it didn’t feel like it was dragged on beyond what was fine before they finally decided to get together.
The rest of the cast was so-so, but at least the manga did an effort to give them a background and overall they felt somewhat decently developed and not just prototypical characters.
Sadly Nekozaki’s background was on the silly side and the resolution of her issues was underwhelming. Just everything related to her family seemed blown out of proportion.
I agree that it felt a bit too long and could have probably used faster pacing. There were some weeks were I was struggling a bit to remember something that had happened a few chapters ago.
