I found the first “found story” pretty scary. The rest was fine, but it didn’t work so well for me.
The thing that really scared me (if you don’t want to check the spoilers) is that a very specific (uncommon) noise happened in real life just as it was mentioned in the book. That was really unnerving

I’ve been reading a children’s book パルサー宇宙戦記ふたご座の戦士 since I finished the 2 ふたごの魔法つかい books I had.
So far it’s a few levels or so above my level (probably around 22/ 23, whereas my comfort level is around 19-20) there are a lot of words I’ve needed to look up since they are sci-fi vocabulary, around 3-5 per page during the prologue, so it may be more easy or difficult than I think.
I’m thinking after this I will read S級ギルドを追放されたけど、実は俺だけドラゴンの言葉がわかるので、気付いたときには竜騎士の頂点を極めてました while at home (due to look ups) and ふしぎ駄菓子屋、銭天堂 while at work, but we’ll see how that plays out.

By the way, I checked the episode list, and I think the anime covers volumes 1-5, except for the last episode which doesn’t sound like anything in the book. I guess it might be original/adapted content to wrap up the series?
That would make sense.
Past volume 5, the author is trying really hard to not get those two to simply start dating and starts spending a lot of time on other characters (which I don’t care about; 高田 is the only one I want to read about)
I still like the series a lot, but that’s a bit sad.

Is the whole thing the 20 pages that are in that link? If so, it was good. Works well as a short one shot, but wouldn’t as a series.
Also, the confession was totally predictable, but cute nonetheless.

Yeah that’s the whole thing… I could maybe see it working as a series if the author adjusted things a bit… but I had the same thought when I read it
Either way, it was nice to read something creative/out of the box for once. Some of their one shots can be pretty interesting

Playing Fate/Stay Night in small doses. PC in Japanese, and Switch in English b/c I like the new official translation! The remaster is pretty!! More manageable than last time, and it’s nice reading something with some depth/substance, and a more serious tone. Still quite the challenge though!
Been really enjoying 熱帯魚は雪に焦がれる | L24 - just 2 volumes left. I can’t say it’s hitting me as hard as the first time around (probly because I vaguely remember a lot, and have some more emotional distance now), but it’s still been really nice!
Current through 百合姫 2024年8月号 | L25 (except 踊り場にスカートが鳴る | L22, アンドロイドは経験人数に入りますか?? | L21, and スピカをつかまえて 1 | L24 - which I’m behind the magazine volumes for). Next is 百合姫 2024年9月号 | L25, then debating btwn 少年エース, 花とゆめ, or LaLaDX (the former is like 800-1k pgs, but I could use a break from romance magazines)
ささやくように恋を唄うアンソロジー | L22?? - Nothing mind blowing, but much better than when I read the New Game anthology. I’m going to knock that plus ささ恋 10 | L21 (which I’ve read in magazine form) off my list soon, and then 真月譚 月姫 8 | L27 I think.
I really do wanna get back to all the LNs soon too… non-committally starting the audiobook for ポーション頼みで生き延びます! 1 | L28 裏世界ピクニック to help meet my August listening challenge goal. Considered 夏へのトンネル、さよならの出口 | L29 and 君の名は | L29 as well.
Anyway, I’m gonna try not to consciously think of all that, and just get back to reading lol

3 books in the series though so maybe it was trolling us all.
On a slightly unrelated note, I have too many books that I need to read. My TBR pile in Japanese is higher than my finished book pile in English and I have been an avid reader for most of the last 30 years
