this isn’t instant and doesn’t pull in all the data from the cards like I have anki setup
though seems like a nice tool for those that might want to use something like that
An example of how my android tablet (kiwi) is setup (laptop is brave):
kindle doesn’t do anything like this yet!
ttsu and yomitan have spoiled me!
and now the import to anki is seemless between the laptop and tablet so can easily switch between the two devices and keep going.
don’t have an example handy of my anki cards at the moment but basically I export the data to a delimited file, import into a spreadsheet and from start from the last point I exported…[ I beyond censored hate anki reviews sooooo much would rather do almost anything else ]
…take that vocab and copy those directly into renshuu (easy to build new or add vocab to existing lists). The sentences are also automatically pulled into anki from yomitan. Those take a little more work but easy enough to take the sentence list and bring that into renshuu. They cannot be reviewed until bound to the renshuu jisho and that is a mildly annoying step but isn’t horrible (not much different than using ichi.moe).
But once everything is in a neat exportable spreadsheet, can do anything you want with it with any srs program.
I am being picky about what vocab I add based on freq lists (have a few of those in the dictionary) - mostly want to learn from sentences vs vocab srs…more fun to enjoy reading than grind out srs reviews. They also stick a lot better for me. The crosswords from vocab are fun though!
If the kindle scribe worked like this i’d use it more than the tablet (it’s light and easy on the eyes) but still a bit slow and cannot write in epub (can side load a pdf but no dictionary lookups…it’s kind of silly)
edit…since a kindle thread should probably throw what this same book looks like on the kindle scribe (with the side loaded dictionaries - had to take photos first
side loaded dictionary selection
not as pretty as ttsu yomitan but it does work (even if no pixiv kindle dictionary)
