Sorry about that. I’ll share the Natively links and someone else can nominate them if they’re so inclined. This is just a list of recently purchased yuri manga that I haven’t read yet.
no need to be sorry
I’ve actually had my eyes on this one for a while now!!!
I’m holding back from nominating more so hopefully someone else will pick it up
I’m torn between wanting to rec this, and just wanting to just read it on the spot rn
It also might be a bit mature for a book club? Kinda hard to tell from the previews.
It seems fine… 48 pgs in (28%). There’s lots of teasing, a bit of kissing, and anything more explicit is not directly depicted so far. there was a sex scene, but it skipped right past the actual sex, to just after they finished… Felt kinda choppy
The use of color is pretty interesting (kinda reminiscent of 気になってる人). If I do nominate it at this point, it will mostly be bc I want help reading some of the handwriting parts.
Title: きみと世界の終りを訪ねて L25? and わたしたちの終わりと. | L25
Book type: twp manga oneshots from the same author
Content warnings
Sexual Assault for わたしたちの終わりと according to the natively spoiler tags
Reason(s) for nominating: I thought the drawings looked nice, so I bought it physically (I usually go for digital). But I haven’t read it yet. I originally saw きみと世界の終りを訪ねて, but because it’s just a one shot and it would be a waste of shipping costs to buy just one manga, I also bought わたしたちの終わりと by the same author.
Are these connected in any way, do you know?
I do not know. I assume not. They are published under different labels. One seems to be an anthology, the other one a doujinshi series, which I assume means the individual chapters were first released individually as doujinshi?
You might want to nominate them separately, then, if they aren’t really related to each other.
Title: 明日ちゃんのセーラー服. | L21
Book type: ongoing manga series
Reason(s) for nominating: I recently rewatched the anime ans I want to read the unadapted rest of the series. I’ve heard later chapters are more explicitly Yuri.
Title: 終電にはかえします
Book type: single manga
Reason(s) for nominating: I’m currently reading おとなりに銀河 by the same author after watching the anime adaptation. It’s hetero romance. The author is also known for 甘々と稲妻. According to MyAnimeList the author has otherweise mostly made BL and other shoujo. I find it really interesting when an author makes on or two Yuri manga but mostly other stuff.
Had no idea those were the same mangaka. Interesting
I’ve watched the anime and there’s basically no yuri. I have no idea if there is any later since I haven’t read the manga, but it feels like it would be out of nowhere for that to become a major theme.
hi!
first of all these look amazing
second I noticed they’re one volume manga and not oneshots so I’m unsure of what to do nomination wise
is it okay if I put each one as a separate nomination or were your intentions that we necessarily read both if they’re voted on?
edit: for now I’ve put them separately, let me know what your intention were in the first place
What does one shot mean if not one volume manga?
As I haven’t read them, the only difference I know of is that one is a collection of stories and the other one seems to be one story. Otherwise they are both post apocalyptic Yuri by the same author. I see myself unable to vote for one instead of the other. And just one volume is pretty short. That’s why I nominated them as a pair.
If people want to have them as separate options, that’s fine, too. You can always vote for both, I guess. And if one of them wins, I guess we could still vote on whether to continue with the other or unofficially share our thoughts about the other after the book club ended.
one shots are a type of manga that are made out of one chapter
they’re mostly mangaka playing around with ideas and stories (for example, anthology books are mostly made of one shots)
sometimes one shots are later serialized and essentially become the “pilot chapter” for something else
they both have around 160+ pages from the bookwalker info so in terms of manga they’re on the average size
so if you don’t mind I would rather put them separately and that way have people choose what they would rather read first, if the second one doesn’t get a cooldown it’ll automatically enter the next cycle anyways so it’ll be votable anyways
Yes. I defer to your wisdom.
Title: 〆切前には百合が捗る | L28
Book type: light novel
Status: finished
Content warnings: Age gap, internalized homophobia. Leads are 16 & 22 at the start, and 17 & 23 at the end. Spoiler for the end: they do start dating at the end, and there is a skipped over/implied sex scene.

Summary EN (deepl)
Volume 1: Introduction: A beautiful novelist and a runaway girl in a runaway house A beautiful novelist and a runaway girl’s daily yuri love comedy begins! Why is it so much fun to play games right before the deadline? … Aiyu Shirakawa, a runaway girl, is introduced by her cousin Miyako Shirakawa to a popular novelist, Hikari Ebi, and ends up working part-time as a caretaker and observer. Aiyu feels happy in her daily life, although she is at the mercy of Hikari, who skips writing and instead plays games, goes fishing, and goes on trips. Meanwhile, Hikari also begins to feel something she has never felt before in her life together with Aiyu. A girl ostracized by society and a novelist blessed with good looks and a good family background, but living a life of self-indulgence, where will their relationship lead them …? This is a gem of an everyday girls’ romantic comedy for all those who have difficulty living a “normal” life.
Reason(s) for nominating: Plot and characters are cute, fairly wholesome, and original. There isn’t cheap, ecchi rom-com style humor. Writing style feels easier than other LNs around this level. It strikes a good balance between fun and comprehensible, while not feeling shallow. The dynamic between the 3 characters is enjoyable so far (Miyako seems like a good cousin, and as Hikari’s editor, she’s often in 鬼 mode). It’s the first age gap story I’ve encountered that doesn’t have some additional weird vibes/dynamic attached to it, which I was grateful for. I’m apparently in a light novels mood rn.
It’s by the same author as 変人のサラダボウル, the anime adaptation of which I’m currently quite enjoying. They also made some other works that got adapted.
